Potholder Parade

I did a big cleaning spree in the sewing room earlier this summer and set aside some orphan blocks to use for potholders.  Not wanting to settle into an ongoing project quite yet, these little guys seemed like a nice way to putter away a little bit of time on a rainy afternoon.
I did get two more rooms done first though.  This is the dining room before, it has become a craft room for the kids ongoing projects.  Painting for Anna and robot construction for Ryan.  Fun summer projects to be sure, but OH SO messy.
I couldn't quite manage to get them to put everything away, but it is still much better than it was before.
Now I think I'll settle in to sew some binding onto my potholder collection.

Such a great idea for those orphans, they shall serve the purpose well being they are in those cheerful colors.

I am envious of your wood floors!

I find it so satisfying to do small projects; the making is just what I need when I 'need to sew' and getting something finished is a great morale booster. Your pot holders will be so cheerful to use.

I agree with Vroomans...... I would love to have your wood floors! Someday......
Such pretty potholders and a nice quick project to feel the accomplishment of getting something done.
You can come and tackle the kids play room any time you want..... I have a feeling I will be in there for days when I get back trying to clear out and organize.

Our dinning room table gets all the mail and the newspaper. It has to be cleaned off daily or it takes me an hour on the weekends to get it to the point you can eat on it.

Fun and lovely pot holders. They will make nice gifts.

I really like your potholders! I've seen them called "kitchen quilts" and I use mine to set hot bowls of food on my dining table. Orphan blocks make wonderful potholders.
