February Color Announcement and Fabric Giveaway

The color for February will be brown, and just to mix things up a bit, I am encouraging the addition of pink accents.  With the help of Vicki Welsh, I designed this palette called sheep which I am ready
to use for my column along blocks for February.  I have a nice simple pattern planned for this month, which should create a great secondary design. Hopefully the tutorial will be ready soon.
Thanks to Vicki, I also have a hand dyed bundle of fabric ready to give away to one lucky blog reader.  You will notice that it is not the same as the inspiration palette for the month.  A funny thing happened while Vicki was dying the Rainbow Scrap Challenge fabric for this year.  She had just finished dyeing all of the necessary fabrics, along with one for the giveaway and one for her to keep when she found two more orders hiding in the line.  So the giveaway fabric is inspired by the colors, but not the same.  This gradient is called Harvest Moon and has brown in it along with orange and black.  To enter the random drawing for this fabric bundle, just leave a comment on this post with the name of your favorite kind of chocolate.  I just love junior mints.  They are my favorite movie time treat.

I've seldom used brown, so this will be a real challenge for me. Maybe I can use my friends' scraps. Have already got some in a plastic bag. My favorite chocolate is Norwegian Milk Chocolate. Thanks for the giveaway.

I haven't "met" a chocolate I don't love yet. My current favorite is the Black Currant Lindt chocolate bar. My sister introduced me to it this Christmas. This is my first year joining in with your rainbow scrap challenge. I am enjoying it. Luckily I have lots of browns to use for this month. Thanks for the linky you do. It really is fun to see what others are doing.

I would love to eat masses of chocolate, but now it has to be just small amounts of pure chocolate: at least 70% cocoa. It's so bitter I can't eat much!
I like the combination of brown and pink so I hope I find some in my stash.

I love dark chocolate at 70% or better--my favorite one now is by
Ghirardelli--need my 2 squares every day--just like taking my Vitamins--important for my health!!!
Hummm--pink-I just realized yesterday that is one color that I did not keep much of in moving down here--and not sure why as it is my favorite color!! so guess I better do some online shopping today!!
love and laughter, di

Oh, I'm glad we are getting to brown early this year. Thanks! And, I love any of the hand dipped chocolates from the local family owned business called Lagomarcino's. They have been making chocolates since 1908. And since Valentine's Day is this month I will probably get a box of their finest mixed chocolates. Yummmm.

Interesting color choices this month!! And, as to my favorite chocolate, it's Cadbury's Dairy Milk -- the REAL thing, not the fake made-in-America stuff they're selling here now!

My favorite kind of chocolate is a Maraton bar. I haven't had one for about 30 years. I don't think they still make them. They were a long braid with caramel in them. I remember buying them frozen at my favorite swimming hangout as a kid.

I just googled it. Guess Cadbury makes some thing similar called a Curly Whirly. I've never seen one. Thanks for the chance to win.

By the way, I LOVE brown!!!

Thanks for the chance to win!

My favorite candy is made by a small company in Canton, Ohio, called Heggy's. Their peanut clusters (which they call peanut patties) are out of this world delicious. They make many different chocolate candies and the chocolate they use, I think, is Peter's.

Beautiful colors in those giveaway fabrics!

Brown is a bit of a puzzle for me on my applique, as I don't really need any brown. I think I'll work on a yellow block for one, as it has oodles of pieces! I may have to pull a pink or two as well. We shall see as the month goes along!

My favorite chocolate is Cadbury. With this sheep theme feels like I need to either make a sheep block or applique a sheep on one of my blocks. Can not wait to start. Would LOVE hand dyed fabric! Thanks....Robin
