Finishing Fun

I just finished off Four Patch Surprise!  It only needs binding.  It isn't a large quilt, just a way to use up lots and lots of extras
Here is the back.  You can see the quilting a bit more here.  Smallish meander in the background with an alternating sort of linear maze in the four patches.  I think I can get another quilt loaded up on the frame, but I fear that I am almost out of batting.  I might just be able to piece together enough to eke out one more quilt before heading out to a store.  Wish me luck!
I haven't exactly been super active today, but yesterday I got more than my fair share of exercise during the Orlando half marathon.  It went even better than the last one even though my running partner seems to have caught the cold that I have finally gotten rid of.  We both felt good at the end though and finished 15 minutes earlier than our last race.   Not that we are super speedy by anyone's definition, but I was glad to be out there putting one foot in front of the other.

Four Patch Surprise looks great! It's always such a good feeling to get a finish. And a half-marathon finish must be a REALLY good feeling!

Love your Four Patch Surprise. What a great idea to use up scraps.

I'm glad you and your friend were able to finish the race. My son runs marathons and for him it's just a matter of beating his personal best.

I like your double scrap quilt. Using up scraps so cleverly for the back is so smart. Congrats to you and your running friend on bettering your last year's time. I'm afraid that would be a hard thing for me to do. Maybe a walking half marathon. Do they have such a thing?

Congrats on TWO fast finishes! The first one is bright and happy, and well within my skill set to try for myself. The second one, well, let's just say I'm always impressed by feats of athleticism :)

LOL! I just made 3 quilts similar to this, but mine were memory quilts made from polyester knit shirts. Of course, I didn't make the fancy backing like yours. Great job!!

Two great finishes ... your quilt and your 1/2 ... and what an impressive time improvement. 15 minutes. WOW!!!! :)

Your quilt was really 2 quilts in one. Great finish. But the half marathon finish is even better. Like Louise said, the quilt I could handle, the running not so much.
