Sunday Wrap Up

The sunrise was subdued this morning.   It is a bit chilly so far but promises to warm up as the day progresses.
I am making good progress on my red scraps.  I dreamt last night about making placemats out of crumb blocks.   Here is my wall so far:  starting at the top, I've got bulls-eye blocks which are a courthouse steps variation from 1.5 inch strips, Carpenter's Star, which is just HST units from 2.5 inch strips with a few squares, and finally Blackford's Beauty blocks from 2 inch strips.  These are my 3 main Rainbow Scrap Challenge projects for 2022.   I've saved the tiny scraps for paper pieces mini log cabin blocks.

While working through my red scrap bin, I've also been adding some alternate squares to these scrappy Irish Chain blocks.   So many scraps all used up!  How is it that I haven' run out yet?  Visit Oh Scrap!  for more scrappy projects.

Oh I LOVE your scrappy Irish Chain. It seems like every project I make either casts off 1.5" squares or 2.5" squares. I need to make more of those projects. I'm leaning towards a Bonnie Hunter design called Idaho Square Dance for the 1.5" squares, but I just don't want to start a new project just yet. I know I'll have enough squares when the time comes... Happy sewing.

I love seeing your design wall of RSC blocks- so pretty! And that scrappy Irish chain is wonderful. What size are your little squares? I certainly have lots of those!

Love your scrappy Irish chain! I found mine while looking for some red strips. I managed to find 6 red friendship star blocks instead.... Hope you have a good week.

Your red blocks are very pretty. Thank you for sharing the beautiful sunrise, too. How wonderful to live so close to the ocean!

I like your great selection of RSC blocks. I have a carpenter wheel top planned in my head and possibly have a fabric pull for it too. I need to make a final decision on what I'll do with RSC this year. I'm planning a block bigger than 6" though and maybe only making one or two of them. Still time to decide....

You seem to get so much done. I have a lot of 2.5, 3.5 and 5 in square which I need to get sewn together. Then what do I do with them. I don't get tops quilted.
Have a good day.
