ScrapHappy Saturday Progress

The hexies quilt is getting so close to being done. All the light edges are done, it is just a few more dark hexies that I need to add to the bottom row of dark. Honestly it is just a few hours of work. I am thinking of making stripes of each color for the back. I want to hand quilt it with horizontal lines, so that should not cause too many problems.
I am still chipping away at the log cabin blocks. I lay each one out of the floor and then double check the layout before sewing it together. There is only one so far that got twisted during sewing. What are you up to in the sewing room?

  8. The hexies are so close to complete! Great work there, I have neither the patience nor desire to attept them. Yes the log cabins do rebel , mine did in this post https://quiltchatter.blogspot.com/2025/01/end-of-stack-log-cabin.html but I reined those blocks in with a log cabin border! Happy stitching!

  13. Love your hexi quilt! It is much bigger than the one I made years ago in the Grandmother's garden pattern. It was so time consuming but at the same time, relaxing to hand stitch! Now I'm working on scrappy tumbler EPP blocks.

  14. Your hexie quilt is lovely! Isn’t it exciting to be so close to the finish line? Hand quilting will add to the beauty! How funny – “chipping away” at log cabin blocks! 😊Great pun – whether intended or not! You made me smile.

  15. In the Log Cabin lower right corner, you have 2 long light fabrics of same print right next to each other. Is this the look you are going for?
