ScrapHappy Saturday - List with Checkmarks

What a long strange week it was. I woke up on Monday to winds as strong as some hurricanes and warnings of massive flooding. It was worse just slightly south of here where they got 27 inches, but it was pretty damp with flooded roads over most of the county. So that led to no school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday which led to some extra time in the sewing room.

Then I added more hand quilting to the Hen and Chicks sampler quilt. I used scrappy binding on this one and I think that the charcoal color is too dark. I will leave it for now though.

First, the Churn Dash and Chains got its binding. I used a white sheet for the back so the apple peel quilting shows up distinctly.
That left me with time to start of the dot blocks which needed to be ironed and loaded onto the frame. So there should be one more quilt ready for binding before the end of the day.
Just a few more leaders and enders made it through during all of that. I will wait until there is a little more variety and then sew these together into nine patches as we go through the year.

Thursday was Spamalot. We saw that it was playing when we went to Hamilton a few weeks ago and got tickets on impulse. It was so funny and there were some excellent performers. Monty Python and the Holy Grail was the movie that we watched on our first date over 38 years ago.

I think that we are supposed to go out this morning too look at counter tops, and then we will start working on the lower cabinets now that the uppers have been hung. We had planned to go Monday, but that too many roads were closed to go anywhere. Fortunately, many things are back to normal again.  How is your weekend shaping up?
