Design Wall Monday, August 9, 2010

I have three quilts currently residing on my design wall. Two of them are special requests with people waiting for the end results. Guess which one I'm working on? You guessed it, the one nobody cares about with no deadline or recipient. I am motivated to finish of my Dear Jane though, so that I can work on my Midget Blocks without guilt. It's my plan, and I like it. I have 45 completed blocks, but the rest are still in the process of having sashing strips and cornerstones attached. If it were still summer vacation I would be sewing away for at least another hour. It is the first day of school for the kids though, with just two more until students hit my classroom. I'll get all the blocks up onto the wall within the next few days and then move them around until I'm happy with the layout.

  1. I love your blocks for the Dear Jane. I want to make one so desperately but I made myself promise to get the Civil War Diary quilt and the Victory quilt done first. They are both on the back burner. Sigh, school. My son's school doesn't start until after Labor Day but we don't get out until the second week in June. Good luck with the transition back to school.

  4. WOW! Look at you go! Sashing already!

So, are you in your classroom today (Monday) and tomorrow or have more meetings before your students come? Or do you have two final days "off" before everything starts?

  5. Do I spy some 9 patch blocks on your design wall?!?
Isn't that funny that the project that inspires is the one without the deadline?!? LOL

  7. Beautiful work! You are really moving on this one and your sashing looks great...I have a similar plan but am still going back and forth about the sashing size.

  10. Beautiful Dear Jane blocks. I really like the blue. Are they the standard size or larger? I can't tell from the photo. Whatever size they are, they are lovely.
