I was hoping I wouldn't be making another cancer quilt for a while. I just got news today that a coworker is in the hospital with a mass on her kidney. One of the ribbon colors for kidney cancer is green. I'm thinking of counting blocks to see how close this one is to being an entire quilt. Maybe they will find that the mass is benign and this can just be a get well soon quilt. I hope so.
I hate making those quilts too, but they mean so much for the receiver. I love it, I keep my fingers crossed and will put a candle up.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who was given one of those quilts I can't say just how much they mean. It was a little colour in a drab room and a hug to wrap around me when I was out of town for over 5 weeks getting treatment. I will hope for the best for your co-worker. Joanne H
ReplyDeleteI hope it's good news too, but this will certainly cheer her up
ReplyDeleteYou are showing how much you care and I'm sure it will be appreciated. Best wishes for the recipient.
ReplyDeleteThis is a neat block...almost looks like a flower garden!
ReplyDeleteIt will be a lovely quilt and I hope you are right that it will be a get well soon quilt.
ReplyDeleteOh dear. I'm be praying that it becomes a get well quilt. She will love it either way.
ReplyDeleteI too hope it is a get well soon quilt. As we just found out my husband has a huge tumor in his colon, he is only 43. We won't know till Friday if it is cancer or not, and if it is the only tumor. surgery is more than likely next week.
