It is my 1000th post! Who would have thought there was so much to say about quilting? In honor of this momentous occasion, I am having a giveaway! Based on the rainbow idea, it is a "you choose a color" giveaway. Pick a color, any color. Your favorite, one you don't have much of, one you want to use in your next quilt. A primary color, a secondary color, whatever color you can name. I'll search through my strips and squares and into my stash to put together a surprise bundle in that color. Just leave me the name of a color as a comment, I'll choose a winner next Wednesday when school breaks for the holidays.
Until then, how are you doing on the Rainbow Scrap Challenge? We seem to be losing a little steam at the end of the year, making me think that next years challenge will be a 10 month challenge allowing time to tie up the loose ends at the end of the year. For those of us still working away, post a link to your projects below.

pink, please :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, XO
Congratulations on your 1000th post, here's to the next 1000!
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed the challenge and have used lots of my scraps, so much so, I didn't have many scraps in the colours needed towards the end. I've got a couple of tops from the challenge to make into quilts, that's my personal challenge for next year.
What colour would I choose? Not sure, maybe browns/creams, trying to get away from purple for next year, I had a lot if it this year
mmmmm RED please - and congrats on 1000 posts! Well done - and we have enjoyed reading them!
ReplyDeleteI am low on blues. Congratulations on you milestone! Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI would have to give a shout out to oranges and yellows. Such happy colours but low in my stash for sure.
ReplyDeleteThank you for such a great challenge. I did not finish very many in the designated month but I did make a few. The challenge also made me look at my scraps in a new way. I also enjoyed following the links to see what others have done. You did a marvellous job of keeping on track, especially with your busy life style. I will watch for your next challenge. Joanne H
I have enjoyed using up scraps for the rainbow challenge - didn't do every month. I found I was really short of some colours and had too many of others (if you can have too many!) I would like Pink - sadly lacking in this colour
ReplyDeleteHave a good holiday
Pick a color...........just one color. I am having a hard time deciding on just ONE color over here. Can I pick Rainbow as my color?
ReplyDeletePink. I'm getting low. Congrats on 1000.
ReplyDeletePink is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI am so "wrapped up" in Christmas preparations, I have fallen totally off the rainbow scrap trail :(
I have had a urge to do a peach quilt. Actually have some blocks embroidered to start one for my mom in peach but don't have enough fabrics to finish it yet. Still planning on doing more rainbow blocks to make a rainbow quilt. Just have to finish these other projects before I dedicate time to it. Better late then never I guess. : )
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 1000 posts. I like your blog and I like the color blue!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 1000 posts - that is really a fabulous milestone. I would like some reds or blacks. I need to replenish after Orca Bay.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 1000! I am so glad I found your blog last fall. You are a true inspiration in all the beautiful quilts you make and share with us. I have loved the scrap challenge even though I didn't get a chance to do each month. I am trying to finish up some of my unfinished rainbow ones this month....(Hand quilting the pumpkin from October and quilting the pink scrappy one) and since it is Saturday I think I am off to sew a bit! Oh, blacks for the Ocra Bay would be nice... I hope to start that one in January. A bit behind everyone else, but I must finish a few things off first.
ReplyDeleteBrown, grey and cream I would choose.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I had to stop the rainbow challenge, because our life changend and I didn´t have time to sew and to quilt. I hope, it will be better next year.
Congratulations to your 1000 Posts.
Maybe I can jump in on the challenge this year, I meant to last year but didn't do well. I think I'd have to pick pink if I win. I've been loving the pink strings on clue 4 of Orca Bay.
ReplyDeletePurple! I'm still trying to collect a variety to purples to make an all-purple quilt :)
ReplyDeleteWOW - congrats on 1000!! Blue would be lovely.
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed watching the rainbow challenge. One of my goals for the new year is to get my stash organized and ready for leader/ender projects.
Congratulations and thanks for the giveaway. I would like more GREEN please.
ReplyDeleteYellow! It's such a bright color, but I have the least of it in my scraps.
ReplyDeletecongrats to 100! i love yellow :) raineoc@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear the next 1000 things about quilting!
ReplyDeleteWe're heading your way in the morning. Very Merry party tomorrow night, Legoland on Monday, more fun all week.
And for your giveaway...purple, of course.
Congrats on the 100th post! I checked back every month re: the rainbow challenge, but never quite got anything done. Maybe next year...
ReplyDeleteI have a little bit of everything, so I guess I'd like you to surprise me! Any color would be welcome.
Neutrals would be great, I seem to go through those pretty fast. I wish I would have stayed up with the rainbow challenge better, always enjoy your posts.
ReplyDeleteI would pick purple. I love all the different shades. I love Blue and pink that always goes well. Congratulation on 1000 posts. That take commitment.
ReplyDeleteIf I am lucky enough to win I would choose Green, please. Not got much stash of green.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 1000 posts.
Congratulations on this milestone.
ReplyDeleteI chose GREEN.
me gusta el color orange, naranja...
ReplyDeleteGracias y mil abrazos..
Lily
Some lovely ORANGE scraps would help me finish my big rainbow scraps project (broken dishes "star" blocks) ... though I can't believe that afyer everything you produced this year for the challenge that you have ANY scraps left ;-)
ReplyDeleteI would say red. Thanks so much! Love to follow the challenge!
ReplyDeleteGosh, 1000 posts, that's a real inspiration. I've really enjoyed your challenge this year, even though I've not achieved much in the last few months. I have managed to finish a few donation lap quilts though and got through quite a lot of my scraps which I've been really pleased with. And I've challenged myself to try several new techniques too which has been fun. Thank you for organising it Angela.
ReplyDeleteIf I should win I think I'd choose blue, mainly because all sorts of different blues go together really well.
how exciting-not sure i can pick just one color-maybe red since I haven't started my red strings yet for Orca Bay...Congrats on 1000 posts!
ReplyDelete1000 posts! How do you find the time! Wow.
ReplyDeleteNext up on my quilting list is the Hobo Quilt for a son--I'm using what I call 1930s drabs. Not the cute stuff, but stuff like old men's shirts... that's not exactly a color is it...
My favourite colour is purple and surprisinlgy, there isn't much in my stash!
ReplyDeleteI am too sick with flu to think about sewing of any kind so my random blocks remain "un-caught-up"!
You might think I would say lime green but I am going to say orange!
ReplyDeleteWow! 1000 posts! Congratulations! Hmmmm...I think I'll go with lights. I never seem to have enough of a variety. Thanks for sharing! :o)
ReplyDeleteI pick blue! Thanks for sharing--love seeing all your scrappy quilts--I'm a newbie so don't have many scraps yet.
ReplyDeleteWow! 1000 posts. That's awesome. I love turquoise. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on hitting 1000 posts! I'm trying (slowly) to make a rainbow quilt and find I don't have many yellows or oranges. I tend to go more for reds and blues.
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog not too long ago. You're quilts are lovely. Thanks for the giveaway.
Wow! That is a lot of posts! Congrats on 1000. I think I need creams & neutrals more than any color.
ReplyDeleteAmazing, 1,000 posts!! I'm not officially working on Orca Bay, but I do have the requisite blue string blocks made ;) I like your idea of making batches of units while working on the string blocks. Makes it seem less daunting.
