There is something about orange that just makes me smile. I really didn't have much for the first few years of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, but now I've collected quite a nice little bunch. Last weekend I used some of them to make framed nine patches to go with Mai Tai, today I will work on some of the star blocks that alternate.
The hand dyed fabric by Vicki Welsh for this month goes to a fairly new blogger at Needle and Foot. Vicki is having a sale right now, so if you weren't the lucky winner this time, please be sure to check it out.
How about you? Use misterlinky to share your own orange plans and projects.

I'm ready to enjoy some orange! Thanks for the heads-up on Vicki's sale, I'll have to go check it out.
ReplyDeleteNot many oranges in my stash, not sure why it is such a fun color. Looking forward some blocks today!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving all the orange! I'll have to see what else I can make in orange this month!
ReplyDeleteOrange certainly makes me smile too Angela!!! And I just love all the pretty fabrics playing so happily together in your Mai Tai blocks! Reminds me of my Happy Dance blocks with those colors :)
ReplyDeleteI'll enjoy a look at everyone's blogs. I was a a machining class today so no scraps sewn...
ReplyDeleteOrange is one of my favorite colors!
ReplyDeleteLiving through the 70s I think I got enough orange back then when it was popular so don't really care for it much but it sure seems to add some zest to quilts.
ReplyDeleteThose framed 9Ps sure are cute.
I seldom use orange and don't have any in my scraps. One of these days I'll need to stretch myself and purchase some orange material.
ReplyDeleteI love the oranges - one of my favorite colors.
ReplyDeleteYay!! Thank you Angela for the giveaway. I am so excited to win some of Vicki's gorgeous fabric. You made may day and it has only just begun!!
ReplyDeleteI think orange, like red, is challenging because it covers such a broad range. I am trying to bulk up my orange stash this year!
ReplyDeleteWhen I sorted out the pile of orange scraps, I found lots of 2.5" WOF strips -- that has become over a yard of strata. WOOT -- now I can cut out pieces and parts for all six of my RSC projects!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see orange for the fall. I am back to posting today. Now off to sort out my orange scraps.
ReplyDeleteLove the framed nine patches for the Mai Tai. They are so happy and yes they make me smile too.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had much orange in my stash or scraps in the past, and I think I've used up most of my scraps over the last year of RSC. I found a few bits, however I need to enhance my stash, perhaps a September project.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, not a lot of orange in my scraps. I'll need to come up with a plan when I get to these!
ReplyDeleteI was so far behind in my RSC blocks that this week I have played catch up. Hoping to get stuck into the oranges this coming week, but its a busy one, so don't know how much I'll get done.
ReplyDeleteI love this block with your oranges, and the accompanying fabrics really make the orange glow.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the winners.
ReplyDeleteI didn't care for orange until the RSC. Now I love orange.
Love your blocks : )
I forgot to come in Saturday to link up last week's post.
ReplyDeleteI hope it's ok that I posted today's as well as last weeks to show the orange hexagons that I've been working on.
