It is the last orange Saturday. I've enjoyed seeing all the fall colors coming out this month. A lot of block collections seem to be coming together right about now, which is good timing as the end of the year starts to peek its head around the corner. Starting to see all the different colors come together is all part of the fun of the end of year.
Last weekend I spent a good bit of time putting together baby nine patches with churn dash blocks. These little guys have been brewing for quite a while, so seeing them turn into a quilt will be enjoyable.
Speaking of things that are enjoyable. It is time to start taking names for the giveaway of Vicki Welsh's hand dyed fabric for the new month. To enter the drawing, just leave a comment on this post with the number one quilt on your "someday" list.
So fun..... It's a toss up between storm at sea and dresden plate for the 'someday' list. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove to come here every weekend and get inspired. First on the to-do list is Shakespeare in the Park. In blue! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteLove how your quilt is coming together!
ReplyDeleteSomeday when I grow up I want to make a New York Beauty.
Boy this month has really gone quickly! Love your churn dash nine patch quilt! I love the idea of doing little nine patches. The one quilt I have always wanted to make is a winding ways.
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed watching your progress with those dear little 9 patches. They look good with the churn dashes as alternate blocks.
ReplyDeleteMy long term project on the "to do" list has been a Quilt of Crosses. Keeps sliding down the list as I find more and more interesting things in which to become involved. Blame that Pinterest!!
I have always wanted to make a Sunbonnet Sue.
ReplyDeleteI would like to make Basket Lattice. This pattern was designed by the daughter of a member of our guild.
ReplyDeleteThose little nine patches and churn dash blocks in a rainbow of colours will make such a lively quilt. It just sings.
ReplyDeleteAt some point in time I would like to make a hand appliqued quilt and quilt it by hand. I'm not sure what the pattern will be just yet. There are so many choices.
I would love to make a wedding ring quilt. hopefully before my daughter gets married!
ReplyDeleteThe 9 patch and churn dash quilt looks great.
ReplyDeleteOn my someday list is a Dresden plate quilt.
I've sat out all month. Not alot of orange scraps and certainly not much variety. I made a very simple block for my growing row quilt and finished off too many hours making these pumpkin greeting cards. This is my favourite monthly challenge and the only one I can stay with joyfully!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to leave words for my 'someday' quilt. It would be a beautiful log cabin with lots of applique in the light areas and borders.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is really coming together. It's going to look great! "Someday" I want to make a Cathedral Window quilt. All by hand, though, so it'll be a while!
ReplyDeleteYour nine-patches and churn dash blocks look wonderful together! Great diagonal movement in your layout.
ReplyDeleteSomeday I hope to make a Winding Ways quilt, and my husband has been wishing for a Mariner's Compass.
Thanks to Carla, the Pickle Dish quilt is on my list for someday.
ReplyDeleteI love how it is all coming together. I don't like the color orange and yet seeing these blocks I am beginning to change my mind.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your little nine patches Angela!!! I'm so sad to see Orange go! But of course I'm excited to see the next color :) My #1 quilt on my Someday List is to finish up my Hawaii Sunset!
ReplyDeleteI love your orange blocks, Angela. I want to make a big colorful scrappy sting block quilt with each center strip the same color. That's on my list for next year : )
ReplyDeleteLove this rainbow scrap challenge.
On my list is definitely Storm at Sea, probably with a twist!

ReplyDeleteThis is my first quilt...so I hope to get it done someday! I do love Jen Kingwell's Gypsy Wife quilt and think it might be fun to try.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see your quilt coming together now, the combination of 9 patch and churn dash works beautifully.
ReplyDeleteMy someday quilt is Lollypop Trees by Kim McLean
A carpenter star. I hope it is on my someday soon list.
ReplyDeleteLate to post today - neighbor had a new fence installed and the contractor cut the cable line. 24 hours later, we all now have temporary above-ground lines strung until the other guys can come dig a big hole next week.
ReplyDeleteHappy to be here in Rainbow Land!
p.s. My #1 "someday" quilt? Another scrappy quilt featuring free-pieced words . . . not sure which "topic" which is why is hasn't happened yet. Someday!!
