Hanging out at LAX practice and hiding in the car from the rain. I brought my notebook though and sketched up this block as a possibility next year. It is called Missouri Puzzle. Though there are a lot of variations, this one works out well with 15 inch blocks. One light and one dark block each month would make a nice quilt at the end of 10 months
Me likey! I was just going through ideas for myself for RSC2016 and had 9-patches and rail fences and crumbs on my list. This block would take care of those three (and then some) and leave me some larger pieces for strings? Other? Now I just need to convince my grown son that the quilt he wants from me next year is a rainbow quilt, LOL...
ReplyDeleteVery interesting block and I really like the idea of one light and one dark.
ReplyDeleteGlad you could hide from the rain and make great quilt plans!
ReplyDeleteI see a beautiful quilt in the making. I love it. These blocks will be fun to make.

Ooh, I like this one too! Except I'm so far behind on my RSC-ing that I'm not allowed to start a new one next year. Maybe this will give me the motivation to catch up!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a great scrap-eater. It is amazing what scrap quilting can accomplish...this over a kit of matchy-matchy any day!!Love the block plan.
ReplyDeleteDo you have any ideas for alternating blocks or would this just be a small quilt? I probably have enough fabric to make a large quilt out of every color! LOL
ReplyDeleteNice!!
ReplyDeleteThat does look like a fun block to play with.
