I got the first third of the OMG Churn Dashes sewn together yesterday. It takes quite a while to match up all the seams. I am loving the way it looks though, so I will keep sewing slowly but surely.
The other two thirds are ready to go. Maybe next weekend when company has gone?
Until then, I made sure to keep out the Broken Dishes quilt for hand quilting.
And the basket of circles is all prepped and ready to go. Between those two, I should have plenty to keep me happy until the sewing room is mine again.
The things we do for the ones we love! :0 Enjoy your visit!! At least you are prepared and have stitching to work on while your sewing room is off limits.
ReplyDeleteThe Churn Dashes are looking great! Perhaps 'absence makes the heart grow fonder' and you'll be ready to zoom through them once you get back to having a sewing room.
ReplyDeleteSEW sorry that you had to put everything away for company. OMG is looking GREAT!!! You'll get back to it soon enough.
ReplyDeleteThe churn dashes are looking great!
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain about adjusting for visitors! Since my MIL is failing my SIL has beem coming for two weeks, then home for one or two. That means my husband has to move out of her bathroom (and share mine) and I have to adjust the menu plan. On the upside, she's spending quality time with her mom and DH and I have some time on our own to breathe.\
Enjoy your week!
Enjoy the visit, disruption and all.
ReplyDeleteYour Omigosh is phenomenal! Can't wait to see it all together!
I am so impressed with your OMG churn dash. I still have a box full of bits from when I made my attempt.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of seam matching to do putting those rows together... wow!
ReplyDeleteIt's a lot of work to move everything for visitors, isn't it. I hope you have a great week with them. It looks like you have lots of space in that room, too.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt looks great. It does take a while to match seams, though. Slow and steady and you'll finish it. I like the photo of your stacks of blocks all in a row getting ready to be stitched.

Ooh, ooh, ooh. Way to go!
ReplyDeletePiecing together blocks is my least favorite part of the process. I am not a big fan of all that pinning. But your churn dash is going to be lovely once you find more time to see it up. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap! And enjoy your company!
ReplyDeleteYour churn dash is looking good.
ReplyDeletePutting everything in a big basket and hiding it--isn't that the way to clean? If not,I've been deluded while doing it.
have a lovely time with your guests, at least you have some hand stitching to do so you will not have complete withdrawl from stitching! Churn dash quilt is looking lovely
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your visit with your family. Very pretty churn dashes.
ReplyDeleteIt's looking great and you will be back to it soon enough.
ReplyDeleteThe hand sewing is a good idea!
Whenever my mom comes to visit, we have to rearrange all the sleeping arrangements, too. But the visit makes it all worth it, and I'm sure you feel that way, too! Your churn dashes are going to be so beautiful! Enjoy some slow stitching in the meantime.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week with family--that is important--
ReplyDeletelove the quilt blocks and it is always good to have hand work to do while visiting-
love and laughter, di
I just got my sewing room back. My son-in-law really was creative moving items around to get the two beds in the sewing room. I had things packed so it wasn't too bad.
ReplyDeleteMy sewing space is also in the guest room so I totally understand how you feel. The Omigosh/churn dash looks wonderful to date. Looking forward to a photo of the finish.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh your OMGosh is looking great! All that sewing will be worth it! Lucky you have plenty of handwork to do while your sewing space is out of action...that's one of the things I love about this passion of ours, there are so many different aspects to it.
ReplyDeleteYour OMG quilt section is looking so awesome! Hope you have a nice visit with family.
ReplyDeleteThe OMG Churn Dashes are so colorful. Looking forward to seeing that one complete. Hope you got in some hand stitching during all the visiting this week.
