Really all I've been up to these days is plugging away on string blocks. They are relaxing and mindless, and more than a little messy. Lots of scraps put to good use though. This is homecoming weekend for our school. We don't have a football game, so it was the traditional powderpuff game on Thursday. Tonight is the dance, which means I'd better get busy on finishing the hem on Anna's dress. She has figured out that she can get really cheap dresses on Amazon prime with just a few minor alterations required. At least the sewing machine will get some action out of that deal.
no sewing for me this week :(
ReplyDeleteWhen you do your string blocks do you start in the centre with the black strip or do you start with the colour strip on one point.
ReplyDeleteI love your string block. They are bold and bright. I love that! ;^)
ReplyDeleteI love your string blocks! What a great design plan with the black border and white corners to contrast with the colorful string centers!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful string blocks. I actually cut some phone book pages to make some strings but that's as far I've gotten. Some day.....
ReplyDeleteI love that string quilt! So awesome!
ReplyDeleteI forgot I DID schedule a post for this week with RSC blocks so I linked up
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh....love those string blocks! Now you made me add another project to my ever-expanding list...but I don't mind. LOL
ReplyDeleteThey're gorgeous! Mi have a string quilt in the works down in Tx. I work on it a little every winter. One day, it will be a finish. Look at all those Linnie's! It will keep me busy for awhile!
ReplyDeleteYour string blocks are coming together nicely. I like the common black string through all of them.
ReplyDeleteI like your string blocks too. The first quilt I ever tried to make was all string blocks. I still haven't finished it, and I shudder to think how I made it!
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I thought this month's "rose" inspiration meant pink! (Maybe my computer's colours are a bit off!) I guess I need to make some red ones now, but perhaps I'll just wait until red comes round again next year!
I like how you are doing the string blocks with the black center, white half and colored half. Makes for a very sharp design when you put them together like that.
ReplyDeleteLove your blocks- very pretty ♥

I love, love, LOVE these blocks! I never tire of looking as string block quilts!
ReplyDeleteVery bright and fun blocks. Some stitching is better than none at all. Hope Anne had a fun homecoming.
ReplyDeleteI had been wanting to do string blocks for a long time so made last month my month to start on them with your colors.
ReplyDeleteI've been following your blog for some time now doing the colors, but over the years I've gotten busy and missed months.
Is it true that you don't post new colors in November and December? If so, I will have to just go back to previous months and pick colors to work on.
I'm looking forward to getting more colors done so I can start putting the quilt together.
I like your blocks with the color only in the center......that's the bad thing about hopping around to blogs. I keep seeing things I want to do when I have walls of bags with unfinished projects already.
My strings basket overflows! I really hope you do this again next year so I can participate. This one is adorable!
