ScrapHappy Saturday 16

I promise that someday I will get back to quilting related posts.  The floors are almost done.  Refinishing hardwood floors goes first on the list of things to never try again.  I think that we managed to recover after a rough start.  We've put down two layers of sanding sealer and one of poly, so the homestretch is in sight.
Friday was senior prank day at school.  I came in to 28 new "students" all in desks with handy little name tags.
The theme was camping.  Student had tents and hammocks spread around campus and sang campfire songs while eating smores.  Speaking of "ends in sight", just 20 days until graduation!  Ryan is the middle child, he will be headed to the University of Florida in the fall.  The nest is getting emptier every year.

  2. Sounds like your senior prank day was fun, unlike some prank days here that got kids suspended and forbidden from graduation ceremonies. Yay Ryan - Go Gators!

  6. The floors look pretty from here. Kind of like quilting--patchwork in hardwood.

  7. Empty nests are awesome, because they're never really completely empty. Congratulations on another graduate! And your floors look great! You shouldn't have to do anything to them for at least another 10 years, so there's that.

  8. Your floor is looking beautiful. My first choice for wood floors is linseed oil - it brings out the colour beautifully and followed by a wax polish is easy to keep up. xx

  9. You did a nice job on the floors. I know how much work that is. I have enjoyed seeing your non-quilt related posts and thank you for keeping up the blog. I know that is also a lot of work

  12. Your floor looks really nice, Angela. Believe me, we are all understanding of everything going on for you right now with the house(s), end-of-term work, etc etc. Sometimes I don’t know how you juggle it all! But these hectic times will pass soon enough, and you’ll look back on them fondly.

  13. Refinishing hardwood floors is definitely a challenge! Wow! Yours looks great now. I know they get frustrating. LOVE the student prank in your room. Cute, cute. The camping on the campus is a fun and innocent theme too. LOVE it. Kids making memories. Only 20 days left? Where has the time gone? As I age I realize that time flies more and more.

  14. Don't fret about the house posts and non-quilty updates. This is your life-- and I'm enjoying seeing all the progress you are making on your new home. Better you than me! I've lived through a few renos and it's a lot of work!! It will be over soon and you will be able to enjoy yourself soon. xoxox
