ScrapHappy Saturday Winding Down and Ramping Up

As the quilts from this year start to get finished, it leaves room to start thinking about new projects.  I have some framed nine patches to try to wrap up  today and then I plan to start of some end of the year mental and physical organization.  Everything is a bit scattered on both fronts, but I will try to make it a little better.

Are you starting to think about new quilts for the new year?   I finished off quite a few during the original quarantine, so looking for new schemes seems like a well deserved reward.

There is usually a big push to finish off the semester at school going on right about now, but we all started late, so exams won't happen until after the holidays.   It is amazing how that one small change is making everything feel different this year.  OK, maybe it isn't just that one small change, but everything still feels different right now.

  1. All year long I make note of blocks and patterns that would work well in RSC colors. Bring on the palette for 2021!

  2. An RSC finish would feel good right about now - maybe I can push myself to get one! I hope you have a good last few weeks of school before a well-deserved break!

  3. Yes, it is strange getting the week 5 report of the 2nd quarter instead of the week 7 report. It sure has been a 'different' year. I think I have learned I rather enjoy this slowed down, stay at home life a wee bit more than the crazy busy one!

  5. I am working on a Christmas quilt. I have gathered holiday fabric for the past 5 years (just one small tub) so I have a couple of quilts I can make from it. It just felt like the year that needed something Christmas.

  6. Yes everything is so different now. I am looking forward to the Christmas break when I will have time to organize my RSC projects and decide which ones will be finished and which ones will continue into 2021.

  8. I've been working on my list of quilts to finish in 2021, and I'm actually quite excited to dig into them. Some are totally new projects and others are Works in Progress or even UFOs. But working on the list has been fun.

  9. I did my first RSC this year after several years' watching. It will need another year to get big enough, so count me in again for next year! I so enjoy seeing everyone's work. You are a great bunch of bloggers!

  10. Best of luck on the finishing up, Angela! I did a little bit of organizing last night to prepare for a Zoom Retreat today. It was amazing how just a little bit of work made a BIG impact on the tidiness of my sewing space!

  11. I can't even imagine all the 'different' that teachers have had to go through this year. Hoping next year will wind down into something easier to cope with!
