I hope that your pink scraps are seeing some action so far. I am enjoying a fresh start despite the news and everything that is happening in real life right now. Sydney spent the week with strep throat. It is a sad day when you are thankful for a bacterial infection because the alternatives are all scary. Ryan is headed back to the University of Florida today. All of his classes are online, but he still wanted to go and be there in person. He had to plan his move in time so that he could get his scheduled Covid-19 test which is required for everyone. Anna is a complicated story, I'm not sure if she will be allowed to return because she has been having some more serious issues that I haven't really discussed online. She is stable now, but being away and unmonitored is a scary thought for her right now. So I guess you can see why fabric is such a joy right now. Sewing is uncomplicated, brings immediate satisfaction and doesn't require any scary decisions. I am loving my pink scraps right now and very much looking forward to making more shoofly and silly star blocks today. Uncomplicated, easy, and pretty. Yes, that is a great plan. Please share your pink progress so far. It is fun to see other people creating and to hear about their own ups and downs.
Thank you Angela. xx
ReplyDeleteYes, sewing is a great alternative to life troubles. Keep quilting!
ReplyDeleteSewing refresh our minds.
ReplyDeleteHope everything goes well for you and your family.
Take care of yourself Angela.
I agree, thank goodness for our hobbies! Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteIt's always good to have some fabric therapy! Hoping the weeks ahead will be smooth sailing for you and your family. Thanks for always inspiring us, Angela!
ReplyDeleteThose little twinkly stars are coming together so nicely...hope you can all stay healthy hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that Anna is struggling. I'm all to familiar with the challenges some college students face, as one of mine is currently at home. Parenting is not the easiest job on Earth, is it?!
ReplyDeleteHope your daughter's struggles get better. We're supposed to worry about our kids. It's part of the job. Try not to worry too much.
ReplyDeleteI am new to this. I have tried to submit my pic, however when I choose done, nothing happens. Please help, give advice.
ReplyDeleteI love it when a plan comes together. Finished my planned blocks earlier than expected, leaving time for other projects to emerge this month. Historically haven't used a lot of pink in projects, so it is nice to play with a fresh color.
ReplyDeleteTechnology gremlins is playing tricks today. The picture will load, just a case of a little bit of patience. Finally getting to my scraps, not having to chose a colour unblocked my quilters block. Pink is now being used, just the fact that the pressure of which colour to pick first. Omygosh has a few more blocks in one week, than what it got in three years. Lift off.
ReplyDeleteI love your pink star blocks. Maybe the reason I love fabric so much is for similar reasons to yours. Fabric can be a comfort. Even to just look at it.
ReplyDeleteI’m so sorry life has been challenging for you and your kids. I hope you can find some peace and safety in the coming weeks!
ReplyDeleteIt has been a hard time for many. Hope things improve for your family. Take care.
ReplyDeletePrayers for you and your family. Thank goodness we have fabric to help us escape the stress for a bit
ReplyDeleteHang in there, Angela. Life is especially stressful right now and with everything you have going on, is probably overwhelming. Prayers for your family. I don't have pink progress yet, but hopefully next week!
ReplyDeletePrayers for you, your family, and all of us who stitch! I've been glad for sewing machine therapy this week. This is my first time participating. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI like making the hashtag blocks, with pink scraps, but there does not seem to be any way to post unless you have your own blog. Is that correct?
ReplyDeleteWe need to remind ourselves that things will get better. 🤞🏻 In the meantime fabric therapy seems to be such a good thing for all of us.
ReplyDeleteMy son was supposed to go back to college on the 18th but then his school announced that they are staying remote and not reopening the residence halls until February 1st. It is so hard for these kids, at a time in their lives when they're supposed to be on their own and developing that independence and self-reliance they will need as adults. I hope your daughter recovers soon (and yes, hooray for strep!!) and that the rest of your family remains safe!
ReplyDeleteGreat to join in again. Hope your family stays safe. My 2 boys are off to work in other cities this winter. Us parents will worry for them.
ReplyDeleteNice to be back with RSC.
ReplyDeleteOn a personal note, I know that you will miss Ryan and I hope Sydney is feeling much better by now. Antibiotics should have kicked in by now. I hope that Anna's woes are heading in a positive direction. As mothers we worry about our children -- their health & happiness. I wish you peace and I'm so happy you have your quilting too. What would we do without our hobby!!??!! Your different projects have really taken off and look so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for posting and hosting the link party, Angela. I am so thankful that I found your blog a few weeks ago and look forward each day to see what you are up to. You have help create a spark in me to work on more projects. Happy quilting.
ReplyDeleteHow do I link my blocks to to instagram?
