Spring Break Quilting Fest

Spring break has begun!  Saturday we started off the week with a Wedding.  My friend Linda from work was the happy bride.   There were lots of Covid safety features, but it was still a little scary to be in a group of people again.
The flowers were just beautiful!  I was lucky enough to bring home an extra to enjoy after the brunch on Sunday.
I spent yesterday getting the borders on this sampler quilt.   I pieced a back and it is ready to go next on the frame.   I am picturing allover flowers for the quilting on this one.   My feathers will definitely enjoy some practice.

I spent the afternoon today sitting on the balcony finishing up the binding on Nine Carat Diamonds.   Then I got the Tiny Tuesday Sampler quilt loaded up on the frame, so that will be next on the list.  Spring break is always a little bit of a taste of summer vacation being just around the corner.  Just nine more weeks of this terribly odd school year!  Still hoping that things start to get back to normal in time for the next one.

  1. pretty! I know what you mean about nervous - I have eaten out only once in the past year and that was a late lunch and practically had the place to ourselves and I was still nervous!

  2. Only 9 weeks left for me too!

I understand your nervousness, especially being around more people than usual. Plus there were probably people you didn’t know, so you wouldn’t know how much social isolation they’ve been doing. I did meet a friend at a restaurant last week, but it wasn’t crowded and the staff were all masked. Most of the diners were masked too except when eating. I get my first vaccine this Friday so I’ll feel much safer once i have both.

  3. I finally got my 2 shots but at 83 it's been scary. I'm old, however, so I am more concerned about the younger people getting exposed because they do and they get sick ... Hopefully, everyone will be able to be vaccinated soon!

On a more cheerful note, I LOVE your sampler quilt!! I love the blocks, the colors .. EVERYTHING. It's truly lovely!!

  4. We are at the two weeks after our second shots so we are going to a favorite restaurant. After a year of Covid, two cancers for me and a serious concussion and brain bleeds for my husband, we are ready to celebrate!

You look so beautiful in the wedding photo. The flowers you brought home are an arrangement I've never seen, but very nice.

  5. Thankfully, our niece rescheduled her April wedding for November. Here's hoping all involved remain healthy after your friend's wedding, Angela! Congrats on your lovely RSC quilt finish!

  6. The protocols have been in place so long that it does bring anxiety when we finally get together. Both quilts are very pretty. The 9 Carat Diamonds really sparkle and I like your every other backgrounds. I'm looking forward to seeing your rendition of Tiny Tuesday quilt. Mine is one of my favorites!
