I've seen so many great Soul Searching blocks being made that I was tempted to start a new quilt. Samplers are a great way to avoid the temptation to start something new. It is so easy to just make a quick block and add it to the collection. I made a few modifications to the idea so that it would be the right size of course.
Everything is cut from 1.5 inch strips.
From 6 different solids, cut pieces that are 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5, 5.5 and 6.5 inches long
From 5 different prints, cut pieces that are 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5 and 5.5 inches long
Stairstep print fabrics from long to short and the prints from short to light. Sew each pair together to make a 6.5 inch strip.
Sew the strips together into pairs and sew the pairs together until the block is complete. Press carefully to avoid distorting the seams.

Isn't that a great block????
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome block.
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to get home from work to whip this one up! Really cute!
ReplyDeleteYea! Another block. I cut two out yesterday and sewed the spool this morning. Will head in and finish the butterfly and then make this one - kids are on the iPads so I can escape.
ReplyDeleteLove that I can use up some of the little bits for this block.
ReplyDeleteThis one will use some of my tiny pieces of teal.
