Cherry Blossoms and Brown Fabric Giveaway

I got the blocks for Cherry Blossoms sewn together!  I worked the borders through as leaders and enders while the rows were being joined, and so those are almost done as well.  I think the pattern calls for both inner and outer borders.  Those will need some time to ponder I think.
In celebration of UFOs crossed off the list, I am going to open the giveaway for the brown fabric hand dyed just for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge by Vicki Welsh.  To enter, just leave  comment on this post with the name of the UFO you plan to finish off next.  I'll draw on before the next ScrapHappy Saturday.
To join in on the ScrapHappy Saturday linky party, just scroll down to the post below.

  13. You made a lot of progress on the Cherry Tree blocks. It's going to be a beautiful quilt. I really like those border blocks.

The next UFO off the list will be the Layer Cake Quilt along project. It just needs to be trimmed and the binding added, so hopefully by the end of the month.

  14. Your Cherry Blossoms is looking fabulous. Isn't it great when you do the leader/ender bit and when you are done with the top, the borders is almost done!
I dragged out an embroidery from my UFO basket which I had intended to get done before life caught up with me. I stitched it many years ago, and I am planning a little wall hanging. Really hoping that I can get that finished this month.

  17. the day after my mother's funeral, I fell and broke my arm. That means I can't use a rotary cutter. But I can tear fabric to sew together and make backings! So I dug through my UFO top basket and pulled out 5 tops, made backings and quilted them.

I had to pull out 5 more, and have a top from around 2007 from an Alex Anderson's BOM project. It is a house, and I have no memory of what the name of the project was.

It is 1/2 the way done on the long arm. And the others are lined up to get finished.

In the next few weeks I will have TEN to bind! Ugh!

  23. Thanks for the chance to win some of this beautiful fabric (especially as I used all the brown I had on last year's RSC!).
I only have one real UFO that's been languishing for the last two years. But there is a mini I finished piecing a couple on months ago - Sarah Fielke's pattern "Drawn Together" - and plan to hand quilt this month.

  30. I'm getting close to finishing my niece Paige's quilt...a girly pink confection which has been in the works so long that it was previously intended for her sister, who has since decided that she "cannot stand" pink. Luckily, younger sister loves pink now, so the quilt will be welcomed warmly. (By the way, Paige's sister wasn't talking about the quilt when she made the statement about hating pink. Lucky for me, the quilts are "surprises".)

  31. Cherry Blossoms is incredible....and you have been very focused in your finish. My next UFO is binding my 2014 Country Threads BOM.

  32. I made lots of nine patches 16 years ago, finally put the top together summer of 2014, quilted it over Christmas and there it sits in the bag, right where I set it down. This quilt's for me. Isn't it funny how other projects take precedence? Or is it just mine? All I have to do is put the binding on so I think I'll put that one on my list to do.
