ScrapHappy Saturday - Fall Festivity
I will be the first to admit that it doesn't feel much like fall yet, but I am enjoying the idea of fall. Things are much more calm at school and cases are more managebale with the mask mandate in place. The courts continue to issue new rulings on what seems like a daily basis, but every masked day is a victory with more kids in school and fewer sick teachers. Sydney is fully recovered and working to make up on the school work that she missed. She is taking the ACT this morning. She missed the SAT during quarantine, so we will need to schedule another session for that. Senior year is starting to feel more real as we get ready for the junior versus senior powder puff football game. There is no dance this year, but they will still have a homecoming court at the football game. Every little bit of normal is so much appreciated at this point.
happy to hear 'things' are improving for you!
ReplyDeleteYay for Sydney! That is such good news. We are back to work full-time but everyone says "Don't get too comfy here, because we are going back home soon." We can't help ourselves and every desk have more pictures of our loved ones than ever before. Take care. ;^)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad school life is getting back to normal, Angela. I'm so glad I'm retired and didn't have to face the extra work of making online lessons as well as classroom ones. The upside is probably that teachers must be much more computer-savvy than before.
ReplyDeleteThings are sounding a bit better for you and that is great! I'm glad Sidney has recovered and can get back to normal, too. Happy Weekend!
ReplyDeleteHappy to read that more kids are in school and less kids/staff are sick. I hope the improvement continues. I hope Sydney catches up soon.
ReplyDelete"Every little bit of normal" - who would have ever guessed in 2019 that we would have to say things like that. Hats off to all school staff who continue to teach in the face of all the chaos.
ReplyDeleteOur local district has a mask mandate in place too, for now at least. There is a very active and LOUD group of parents fighting it. They organized a petition, a student protest, and everything else they can think of. But so far have offered no alternative solutions. And so far our school board is holding their ground. Yay!!
More masks = Fewer sick kids and teachers? Sounds like a BIG win to me!! Glad to hear it. Here's hoping you can enjoy some peaceful ORANGE sewing this weekend, Angela!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it's getting better at school. I hate teaching in a mask, but I would hate it more if I or my students got sick. Stay well, and take care of yourself, too.
ReplyDeleteHope the improviment continues and things get back to normal sooner, great news.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear things are starting to improve and approach 'normal'.
ReplyDeleteOrange is such a great color -- I've got some orange in the works. Glad to hear things are calming down for you and yours at school. I have to say I'm very happy I'm retired from education! Have a good weekend and week.
ReplyDeleteglad your daughter is doing better - hope all will keep their masks on as they see they are healthier for it
