I have just started to dig into the orange scrap bin for September. Things are still pretty busy at work and I am just a bit overextended at the moment. I am going to take some sewing time this weekend though to put together some orange blocks. Cases are way down since the mask mandate, but it will be expiring at the end of the month, so we will see what happens then. They still might extend it at the next school board meeting on Tuesday, but that just doesn't seem to be likely. There is a very vocal group of protestors at every meeting yelling loudly and burning masks.
It started out looking like any normal launch, but then it just burst into a halo of light that pulsed for a remarkably long time. It was the first rocket to carry only civilians.
It seems as though those nasty anti-mask people are at every school board meeting in the country these days! I'm glad having people in your schools wear masks has helped and hope it continues to. Wishing you some happy orange sewing therapy this weekend!
ReplyDeleteglad your school is a little better right now
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are seeing fewer cases, and hope it continues. The school district here has a mask mandate and have very few active cases in spite of the explosion of case numbers all around our whole county. But that hasn't stopped the protestors who have a petition out, have made threats, and show up at meetings - loudly!!
ReplyDeleteOH Lordie. I am so sorry about the yellers and the mask burners...I just took care of a 29 year old girl, no medical history, who died...unvaccinated...of the virus. It broke my heart!!
ReplyDeleteSometimes the most vocal part of the protest isn't the majority opinion. Loudest doesn't mean the most. I don't know when we moved away from discussions. . .likely the late 50s and 60s when protesting was covered more by the media. I hope the masks stay in place. Where I live, there are more deaths of younger people. . .unvaccinated. It makes me sad for all the broken families caused by this virus. Hang in there! Orange will definitely perk up your spirit!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for all your turmoil. My daughter, granddaughter and her family are in Florida. I am worried about them every day, but I trust them to make good decisions. They mask when they are out, kids are in online school. Daughter is administering vaccines at CVS. Masked and face shield in place.
ReplyDeleteI hope the orange sewing lifts your spirits. There is so much ugly going on around the country. Mask mandates, plus other issues. I try to just breathe! Have a good weekend. Fingers crossed for a good outcome at your school board meeting.

Glad to see that you are taking a little time for ORANGE sewing this weekend, Angela. Even happier to hear that Covid cases are down since the mask mandate!
ReplyDeleteNice fall coloured projects you have on the go. No orange for me this week. It was all in my last weeks post. 😉
