Running

I've been meaning to start running again for a while now.  Every once in a while I go out and run with no particular plan in mind.  Being a somewhat goal oriented person, without a specific goal to shoot for, I wasn't making much progress.  So today, I went out and bought some new shoes.  Aren't they cute?
There is always a marathon/half marathon on Thanksgiving weekend.  It was my first marathon, and I've done the half a couple of times.  So with that in mind, I went out and found a plan to follow.  I've always been a fan of the Galloway method.  It is a run/walk plan that is not too stressful.  Then, because I have a plan, and therefore I should, I went out and ran.  I've got a running tab at the top so I can keep track.  Anyone else have goals and plans?

Plans and goals---yes, running a marathon, I don't think so. Can you really run in those shoes? I must be out of the know.

My DB as a pair of those, he loves them. I have plans to walk seriously this time! Mostly for health reasons.

Unfortunately lots of plan, but very little implementation of said plans.

Fun shoes! Are those really meant for running?

My best friend growing up wants to run a Half during October; so I need to get motivated too! I also need to ask: are those running shoes? I have not come across them ever.

My Son & DH have these shoes and swear they are the best for running. I am a walker and I have flat feet so I'm sticking with my Asics. Have fun getting ready to run.

You are an inspiration! My plan is to get my hiney back on my bike daily now that it is fixed. No running for me (unless there is a clown with a knife chasing me like my fb says!).

Such interesting looking shoes! Love the shade of blue!
My goal is to buy a bicycle and my plan is to learn how to ride again. Nothing like a Tour de France. Just ride a little like it's a hobby.

What ridiculous shoes! They're wonderful, so hope they work out for running in. I'm trying to lose a few pounds so have dusted off the wII and am using it every day as well as walking the dog. No running for me, bits of me would start crumbling.

I ran steadily from my late twenties to my early 40s, when my DH's illness and life got in the way. During those years I finished 5 marathons (out of 6 started), a few 10K races and 3 half-marathons. However, I ran mainly to have 1/2-hour to an hour a day to myself. After a 17-year hiatus, having packed on weight, I decided to resume running again, and have built up to 40-45 minutes, 3x a week, running just under 4 miles each time, or about 10.5 minutes a mile -- a far cry from the 8 mpm of my youth! Haven't tested myself with distance, and no longer wish to race or run in a group, but perhaps I'll follow your progress and see if I can't build up the mileage. Seven weeks to my 60th birthday, so let's see...

Love the shoes!! I always wished I was a runner. DD 1 is, but I have never been and with bad knees now it's not in the cards. Go for it!!

Good to have a plan. I have been slowly working on losing weight(10lbs so far). I have yet to admit it on my blog yet. I have a class on Wed that is about weight lose. And then some others down the road. It will be the start to my plan. It will need a better fitness plan to go with it. Good luck.

LOL, that's very funny. You know, I can find something funny in all the things except my erectile dysfunction. This problem doesn't let me live well. I usually use this page to buy good pills which help me to feel strong and young again. You should also try it
