March flew by in the blink of an eye. April promises to be even busier, so I plan to enjoy some fabric fun while I can. Orange is the color for April, with optional hints of black or brown. Monarch butterflies were the inspiration. A lot of people have issues with orange. It was something I had very little of in my stash when I started working my way through the rainbow for the first year of the Rainbow scrap challenge. I have a nice little assortment now though, and in small doses, it adds a nice little pop of color to my quilts.
The fabric giveaway for April features hand dyed fabric from Vicki Welsh in the Sassafras Gradient. To enter the drawing for this beautiful bundle, just leave a comment on this post with one quilting goal for the month. First on my list this morning is to make the April Sampler block and write a tutorial. The block is called sparkler and I'll update give links as soon as they are ready.

I plan to finish my Dog Park quilt to donate to Project Linus in May. Love orange.
I hope to catch up on all 1857 album blocks and piece at least 3 orange blocks for my RSC quilt though I don't think that I have alot of orange at all / might be some peachy shades in there as well ! :)
I need to finish at least one baby quilt this month, hopefully two. One of them will definitely include orange.
I love orange and I am excited to get all my orange fabrics out. This month I hope to finish up my Log Cabin Leaves quilt.
I don't have much orange in my stash either. I plan on finish piecing a quilt that I began 19 years ago after our house fire. I think it's time to put that UFO to bed. The pattern is a fussy cut Irish chain.
I used to hate orange but now find I am wearing it and also using it in my quilts. This month I have to make a custom baby quilt. I have th fabrics, just need to make it!
I've been deliberately adding good oranges to my stash! My only hard and fast goal is to start and finish a Tshirt quilt for a friend.
I plan on getting my mini watercolour piece finished.
SO happy it's orange month!
My goal for this month is to get those Paper Dolls together! They want out of that box!
My goal for this month is to get the borders on Midnight Mystery and get a back pieced so it can go out for quilting.
Let's see, my one quilting goal for this month is to make 3 child quilts owed to 2 great nephews pronto. First, I must decide on the pattern.
Love Orange!! The M&M guys will look good in orange lol. April's goal is to get one row of Shakespeare in the Park quilted and to be less than two weeks behind in the 365 Ultimate Sampler Challenge. At the moment, I am three weeks behind. Good luck with your own goals, Angela. ;^)
I just heard that Hancock Fabrics are closing all of their stores. My day will be spent seeing what bargains they have. I will need to pick up some orange fabrics. I'm following several quilt alongs, so April will be spent catching up with all of them. Thanks for the chance to win some fabrics.
I want to make an orange block for all of my RSC projects!
I would like to catch up on the 365 Challenge this month! It will be fun working with orange this month!
I have one seam left to complete the flimsy for the past president's mystery quilt. This month that gets finished and off to be quilted.
I plan to finish up a birthday gift quilt for a friend, and hopefully work on a donation quilt as well. Happy April!
Hope to finish hand quilting on my Butterfly Garden quilt.
I am going to keep my goal simple this month and just make sure I make 30 circles for my Quilty Project 365.
I plan to make some orange bear paw blocks (I've no idea how many!), and possibly combine two of them with my two brown blocks.
I plan to dig out the blocks in my Elephant Parade. Maybe I can finish that quilt soon. Then I surely like to sew my blocks in orange, as I do every month.
My goal for ORANGE month is to complete O & S's T-quilts... each with a bit of the Color of the Month!!
I want to figure out how to add the next row to my center area for a medallion quilt!
My immediate goal is to finish quilting my Christmas Scrappy Trips Quilt and bind it.
I don't have much orange but I am trying to play along this month. I just found your challenge late in March so I have been catching up with some purple blocks. My goal for this month is to finish the binding on an old UFO. It is so close to being finished!
It will be a fun month of orange. Although my one April goal is not scrappy at all - I need to mark my Eagle quilt so I can start hand quilting!
My goal is quilting at least 2 quilts for Love Quilts Brazil and made the more oranges blocks as possible for the RSC-16 Happy Saturday!
This week's share is not orange because I started both big RSC projects last fall when orange was the color of the month . . . but the current WIP is absolutely scrappy!
I need to layer and quilt a nine patch twin size quilt for our guild show in May, and then do the binding. It is cut.
I have two I need to clean my sewing room and finish my daughter's quilt.
i plan to finish my new yorkn new york quilt for my friend's birthday.
My plan is to try and get the binding on a quilt for a friend who is moving to assisted living and would like to have this quilt done for her daughter. And I'm moving my mother to assisted living this month also.
My April goal looks a little like yours–to put together a tutorial on how to convert a paper foundation pattern into something that can be traditional pieced–because this month's Block Lotto pattern is a paper-pieced Butterfly block and I know that paper-piecing is a love it or hate thing among quilters. I also will make the butterfly blocks for mu rainbow sampler and Old MacDonald's Mystery Sampler.
Hi, Beckasue here! I just found your delightful blog. Your color challenge is intriguing. My goal for this month is to catch up on my blocks for the 365 block challenge I joined elsewhere. But, I think I may just have to make a few orange blocks, too! One of my grandsons has stated that orange is his favorite color. Keep up the good work! Grins!
♡♡♡♡♡orange. I plan to finish my yellow string background for my poppy quilt. Must.Finish.This.Quilt. thank you for the inspiration.
I always combine Quilty 365 and RSC16 to make one quilt each month. My goal is to get the February(pink hearts on brown) and the March(yellow hexie rings on purple) quilts all quilted and ready to give away. April's orange with black is going to be fun.
I plan to finish up old projects this month! Then I can start on the RSC 16! I have lots of orange and all the other colors, so I hope to start in a couple weeks! Love Vicki's fabrics...
I hope to get a couple of tops sandwiched and ready for quilting - my least favourite part of the quilting process!
Orange has long been my least favorite color, though it is growing on me. I have some scraps, so will be able to put together at least one butterfly. I didn't finish my purple blocks until Wednesday night, so I linked them up even though we've moved on to orange :)
Oh My! Orange, huh? I have very little, but I really do like it though. My major goal this month is to finish quilting at least two of the quilts in line, sew bindings down on at least two in line, and to finish up at least two tops that are waiting in line.
Whew! yep, one goal includes it all!

After 7 weeks away from home, I'm woefully behind on RSC16, but with cold weather all this next week, I may start to catch up. And then there's Scrap Tango, my quilt group's challenge, finishing the project from the class I took yesterday, etc. I'd better get started.
My goal for this month is to make my orange scrappy block and then complete some mini house blocks in blue.
I am so intrigued by an orange, black, and cream lately. I have plans for that and have been collecting oranges, so maybe I should take this as a sign to start it? Yeppers!
Oh I love orange! My goal for the month is to finish binding Alletaire.
Hi,
I've kind of stumbled onto your place, would love to join in on the RSC 2016 Challenge. I know I'm behind, but I'll catch up. Got all the info on the colors for the months. Have a great day!

I also live in FL (Port Orange!) and use orange in everything I make! It just fits the lifestyle! I hope to finish round 3 of my La Passion hexagon quilt in the next week. Almost there! There is orange in that, too!
One goal for this month is to tackle the pieced ring for Little Hazel by Esther Aliu. I have been putting this off & I just need to bite the bullet!
To play catch up on all the QAL I am involved with and get back on track after about 6 weeks of everyone in the family falling ill!

My immediate goal is to get my projects gathered that I want to work on at a quilt retreat on April 29th and 30th.
