The last color this year will be light and bright green. Generally blues and greens build up faster and so I try to give them a bit of extra time. Despite making a nice dent in my darker greens earlier, I have a nice stack of lime to play with this month.
It was a difficult week at work as our beloved front desk clerk and receptionist who had been on medical leave since catching Covid during the earlier peak of the disease has passed away. It has left us all shaken and sad as well as worried for our own safety. There is another emergency board meeting on masks this week and the school board is under intense pressure from our state legislators, board of education and brand new anti-vax surgeon general. The numbers are down considerably from where we started the year, but there is still a lot of tension and fear. Students are no longer required to quarantine after a direct exposure and the parents are free to decide that they should return to all academic and extra-curricular activities instead.
Sorry for all the depressing news. The weather here has been beautiful! There is a taste of fall in the air and it has cooled down considerably. A tropical storm sitting far off the coast is causing some big waves, so I think it will be a big weekend for surfing . As for me, I need to catch up on some sewing!

how sad and it is understandable to be fearful of going to work in this situation. I really do not and never well understand this division in thoughts on the pandemic. I'm getting my 3rd Moderna shot today and I will feel a little safer
I'm so sorry to hear the news about your beloved staff member. It's hard to have this disease hit so close to home. And then you have to deal with the political mess in your state involving anti - mask and vaccine sentiments. A frustrating time for people in education who work so closely with kids and other adults! Wishing you some beach walks and fabric therapy this weekend!
That is so sad. It’s hard to understand the politicians views when so many are dying. Enjoy your sunshine, beach and lime greens! Obviously, you can’t change their thoughts so just keep yours positive!
I'm so sorry about your situation at work. How sad to lose your beloved staff member. Like Diann, I hope some beach walks and lime fabric therapy make the world seem less scary. My two hundred member guild continues to meet in person. They wear masks; but, I'm not comfortable enough to attend. Perhaps, after I get a flu shot and my booster. I have no desire to become a statistic in an area where the hospitals continue to be overrun with COVID patients. Sending you a hug.
I am so sorry for your loss. It does get very scary when it hits so close to home. Our community spread was down to 9%.... so technically we have 2 weeks of under 10% and the mask mandate in schools are gone. Sigh. I hope lots of beach walks and fabric therapy help this weekend. Big hugs to you.
Oh, Angela! I'm so sorry for your loss. That really would bring home the risk for you and your coworkers. I wish things were different in your schools and state, but I'm thankful the COVID numbers are currently down!! Here's hoping that you are able to enjoy your sew day.
How dreadful when the horrible disease strikes close by. I just don't understand the anti-vaccination lobby. Thankfully the government here is most definitely pro, and, last I heard, more than 80% of the population over 12 has had two jabs. That still leaves 20% who are in denial, or don't trust vaccines, or whose religion forbids it; too many to achieve group immunity.
Lime green is a happy colour: keep positive with lime!
So sad to read that you have lost your much loved staff member to Covid, such an awful shock to you all. I cant imagine what you are all going through at you school, and obviously this situation is playing out across your state. To have an anti-vac person in charge policticaly just doesn't make sense and all this is playing with people's lives and adding to the daily stress and fear.
I'm so sad to hear you've lost a staff member at your school. Our local board here is being presented (at next Monday's meeting) with a petition to remove the mask mandate. My faith in people has mostly evaporated this past couple of years as I watch them make something like this a political circus that is costing lives.
Angela, I'm so sorry. It must be really hard to work in an environment like that. What a tragedy all the way around. Please take care of yourself, and be careful. Here's hoping you don't lose anyone else. Take care.
My condolences to you and the family of the dedicated co-worker who lost her life to Covid. I’m also angry at the Florida (and other state) legislators who allow lives to be jeopardized and lost to gain a policy “leg up” over political rivals. The cost of this inhumane decision-making is immeasurable. Take solace in your sewing and your internet family in addition to your own most precious family. We love you and hold you in our hearts.
Sorry for the situation. Prayers go out to you, your family & your co-workers. Leah G. Glasgow Kentucky
I totally hear you on not being able to find time for quilting and things and getting back to "the norm" with school things. I seriously make my own lesson plan for just ONE kid. I can't imagine making things up for different scenarios.
I hope you are able to spend time sewing and take walks on the beach to soothe your harried soul. So sorry your school community is grieving the loss of a well-loved staff member. I appreciate your sunrise photos on IG, although I know soon you'll miss them due to your early school schedule.
Pat
Sorry to hear about your loss. Sending prayers your way to smooth out the chaos of the next few weeks. You're stronger than you think. ♥ ;^)
Sorry to read of your loss.. Such a difficult time and there seems no end to it...
Thankfully we have our sewing to get away to...
My heart is heavy as I read your blog this morning. Unnecessary suffering and death is not easy to accept. I will keep masking, and social distancing as long as the need exists. We have our two vaccine injections, and very few cases in the county,(Nova Scotia), but I have watched this new variant spread like wildfire among the unvaccinated. I hope your school will do whatever is necessary to protect staff and students. Over 700,000 deaths is absolutely heartbreaking. wishing the best for you
I chose the great neutrals option as already included lime in previous green month. All ready to cut my squares and mix them all into a wonky bento design. No idea how its going to end up - but thats the thrill aint it?
Wow thank you

My name is Olisa Blessing, I am so happy. I never believe I will be this happy again in life. I have worked as an air hostess ( cabin crew ) for 3years but early this year, I lost my job because of this deadly disease called Herpes virus (HSV). I never felt sick or notice any symptoms. Not until the day all workers were asked to bring their doctors report card, that was how I got tested and I found out that I'm HSV positive and that made me lose my job because it was considered as an STD and is an incurable disease. I was so depressed that I started thinking of suicide.
I explained my situation to an older friend of mine, who often said to me 'a problem shared is a problem half solved. She felt so pity for me that she referred me to Dr. Utu Herbal Cure, that was how I contacted Dr. Utu and got the medication from him and was cured for real.
I went back to my work a month later with another HSV negative test result and they carried out another test to be very sure and they found out I am negative.
Finally, the initial test was replaced with a negative result and my position was restored to me with an apology letter and a salary increment.
Beware of impersonators,
Dr. Utu can only be reached at:
