School started today with all the ceremony and excitement that a new year brings. Today was Anna's first day of junior high. She is coming to school with me now, and seeing her face around campus during the day is such a nice surprise.
Ryan thinks that 6th grade rocks, and Sydney ended up with the same teacher as last year and says it is like having the same year all over again. My classes all went well, though by the time 7th period rolled around, everyone looked SO tired. Getting back into the school schedule isn't all that easy I suppose. I'm pretty much wiped out too, adjusting to the new routine is going to take a few days. It is nice to start with a short week, by the time a long week rolls around we'll all be ready to move ahead full steam.
I apologize for getting behind on answering e-mails, I am still reading, but responding hasn't happened much lately. This weekend should allow me to catch up again and maybe even sew a bit? I hope so.

Glad it was a great first day back. The summer always flies by! College starts here in a week and a half..I have lots to get done before then!
Up here we don't start school (elementary, junior high, high) till after Labour Day -- usually. So this just seems odd to me...
Everyone looks ready for the new year, how nice to have our oldest on campus with you. My granddaughter in Tennessee started yesterday and the children here start the 28th. What ever happened to starting after Labor Day? I miss going back, seems like all the children grew inches over the summer.
Margaret put the right words on the screen......seeing the First Day outfits on AUGUST EIGHTH just seems "odd" !
September 1st is the state law for Wisconsin; kinda crazy, huh? I can't even tell you yet when I officially need to be back and what the start date for school is. Avoidance, I suppose??! :p
I know too well about the new schedule mind-shift, so take the time you need! I know you'll be telling me this same thing in a few weeks with I'M the one trying to remember the craziness of a school schedule.
Happy short week!
Reading about how tired you feel reminds me of how the beginning of a new school year used to feel. Now I'm thinking of Number One Son who starts his first teaching job this September. I don't think he realises yet just how exhausting it's going to be. I wonder if Anna will always be as thrilled to have her mother teaching at her school!!
Don't feel you need to respond to any of my comments, conserve your energy.
Yes, conserve your energy for sewing. I really love seeing yours.
Many happy returns to school!
Hugs
Those first few days are long as I recall. DT starts back next Wednesday. Hope you are catching your breath this evening and do get a chance to sew this weekend.
Wow, school already! Your kids have really grown! I always took pics on the first day too and this brings back great memories. I hope you get used to your busy schedule and get some quiet time to sew soon. Have a restful weekend so you can gear up for the long week ahead!
By now everyone is probably forgetting that vacation was only a couple of weeks ago! Wishing you all, especially Anna, a great school year.
