Cleaning Up

I emptied a bin yesterday!  I can't show you the quilt yet, because it is a surprise.
Here are all the bits and pieces that still need to be cleaned up.  I have a ton of extra sashing strips because I started trimming them to 7.5 inches which is the finished block size instead of the unfinished size.  I remade one set of blocks, and I'm much happier with how it all came together as a result.
I've been in cleaning up mode.  I emptied the Tupperware and put everything that didn't have a matching lid into a quarantine basket.  The kids are under strict orders not to put anything back that isn't complete.  I did the water bottles and to go coffee cups at the same time.  We'll see how long the organization lasts.
The last time I went on an organization spree, I put all the blocks ready to sew together into the labelled bags in a nice basket with a table of contents.
After much contemplation, I pulled out bag number three which is framed four patches.  The note said that they had been pinned together into rows and were ready to sew together.  There were extra four patches to piece together into a backing.
Here is the top sewn together, but I think that I might add one more row onto the top to make it a bit longer.
These four patches will make a nice back along with some rows of white to spread them out.  With a bit of luck, this one will be ready for quilting by the end of the day.  I like to have a stash of quilts ready to finish in case of emergency.  Last year I quilted up a long list of tops during hurricane Irma.  We were home for days and day watching it rain and it was nice to have plenty of quilts to finish to use up all the nervous energy.  I'm linking up with Oh Scrap! today.  Be sure to visit and see what other scraps are being turned into today.

Congratulations on getting a bin emptied out. Unfortunately, I imagine it will be filled up again quite quickly. It's a good thing! And WTG on getting those containers organized. It's always a mystery as to what happens with lids. The elves must come in during the night and rearrange and hid things, lol! Happens at my house!

An empty bin!......That means you get to start two new projects :)

Your scrappy framed 4 patch is fun. Both the front and the backing. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!

I'm so impressed with all your organizing, and especially that the notes you wrote about the project awhile ago still make sense to you! That will be a nice finish!

GMTA?? lol I've been working on finishing ( or even starting and finishing) projects that are in bins. The only thing is, as soon as I empty one project out of a bin, another one is waiting to take it's place - I have too many "I Want to dos".
And I cleaned out our 'tupperware' stash yesterday. I had had them all organized with the lids either on the container or stacked underneath the same size stacked containers, but hubby has been emptying the dishwasher and just 'tossing' the stuff up onto the cupboard shelf and I was having a hard time ( because I'm shorter) finding the lid to go with the container. So, I kept a few decent looking containers that had lids and tossed the old, ugly, missing a mate containers and lids. There are still some in the fridge that will need to be tossed ( too yuckky to pass on to someone else), but we'll get to them one day soon.

Love your quarantine idea!! And that you have projects you can just pull out and work on because you documented what you were doing and need to do. I really like your scrappy framed 4-patch. That top empty bin: when I first saw it, I thought it said "squirrel away." Ha!

Good idea for labeling your UFO's. I need to do that. Maybe then I'd actually pull one out and get it finished.

What a great way to keep things organized. We cleaned out the Tupperware cabinet last Christmas vacation. How do we accumulate so much and where do those lids go?
