The Gift of Time

This morning we took the dog for her usual morning stroll and enjoyed the sun coming up over the dunes.    Now that we are all settling into home isolation I am feeling grateful for the extra time to spend with my family and my hobbies.   Though I know how hard the disruption is on everyone, there is no choice but to take a deep breath and let it happen.
I helped Kurt on our guest bathroom remodel this morning.  I am hopeful that we will have everything we need before the stores shut down for good, but if not, we still have other bathrooms.  I'm not sure that home improvement stores count as essential services when we get to the next level of shutdown in Florida.
My new sewing space is all set up in the master bedroom and I just can't get enough of the view.  We just finished our redo of the closet a few weeks ago and there was plenty of space  in it for the things I think I might need for the next few weeks or months.  It forced me to do some much needed organization and I have collected together stacks orphans blocks and random collections to make useful.  Maybe quilt backs?  Pot holders?  Zipper bags?  Figuring it all out will be fun.
I made sure to bring the teal/aqua/turquoise scraps.  I enjoyed quite a bit of time yesterday in the afternoon stitching hexies and watching a wedding from our deck.  It was lovely.  I might work ahead on the the RSC colors we haven't gotten to yet.  Getting scraps organized and cut into usable sizes is always very relaxing for me.  I think I will focus on tiny block with little bits for a while because they take more time and take less space.  First though, I will visit Kathy's Slow Stitching Sunday and Oh Scrap! at Quilting is More Fun that Housework.  After all, I have been given the gift of time and there are no errands to be run.

I too wonder if home improvement stores count as essential I must ask hubby if he thinks he needs to get anything now that they are still open

Good luck with completing the bathroom renovation! I am currently feeling appreciative of the gift of time with my projects, but at the same time, I am wishing for things to return to "normal." Still hoping that will happen sooner rather than later (knowing that's probably NOT going to be the case.)

I like how you stated when and not if. I have a feeling we will be sheltering more very quickly. At least we have hobbies to keep us entertained and electricity to keep us cool! Hope you are able to grab what you need for the remodel. With the first reported cases in my county Greg mentioned traffic is light and 1/4 of the lot at Publix full rather than the normal full like past days. Seems people are starting to stay home I hope.
Good luck with the online learning. Prepping ahead while you can is smart. Enjoy the stitching.

Good luck with the home improvement. I guess Hobby Lobby isn't essential because it was closed yesterday!

If I had that view, I certainly would be distracted from sewing. Lucky you! May you make the most of your unexpected gift.

The world is changing, Fast.
Your wee hexises and tiny blocks will keep you occupied.
Sadly I suspect my job will be one of those that must continue into lockdown when it comes here, already I'm putting in extra hours. I really am finding it difficult to focus on the nice things at the moment.

What a blessing - and it is good to fine blessings in our current situation. Love your view - I’ve only been reading for a short while but looks like that move was a good one.

Since liquor stores and pot dispensaries count as essential, I would think home improvement stores would count, too. In Illinois, the governor said that home builders were essential. They have to get supplies somewhere. Hope the bathroom redo goes well.

Oh, what a magical view from your sewing room. Why, I don't think I would leave the room. I am glad that Florida will consider lockdown. Down here in Australia we saw on the TV large groups of young people partying on the beach without a care in the world; quite alarming really. Love those itty bitty hexies....sweet colours!

In my opinion, the real gift of time is love, especially if a person waits for this feeling for a long time. But you can not wait and explore this content about a cool dating site that will help you find love. In our time, you should not wait for gifts from time and fate, you need to act and act actively.

I understand you perfectly, building relationships is not easy, I myself was in the same situation. If you want to test most of these features, you can go to this site romancingcupid.com/nerd-dating-sites.html. However, I think you should just start hanging out with different girls to dilute your loneliness. I wish you happiness, and you believe that you will find your love.
