We have lost 42 kids to quarantine since last Friday. This is my first period class. One lone student survives, and she is due to be out next week. At some point the quarantines will start to return, but it is odd to look out at a mostly empty classroom and then open the meeting to see everyone online now.
There was a launch last night.
It was beautiful.

I'm always amazed that you can teach both in person and online at the same time! Soon you may just be back to online, it sounds like. That's what's happening in Colorado right now, too. Our school district just announced a return to remote learning for all students starting next week and going indefinitely. What a time! Take care, Angela!
If I understood this right you only have one kid left in your classroom and the rest are on line! wow, stay safe glad you have the option of teaching from your computer!
What a challenge for teachers and students!!
Oh, Angela, I know how draining it can be to be teaching to a screen. I hope you and your family are staying safe, and that your students are hanging in there. Are you using OWL cameras, or just Zoom? Either way, be well.
Hope you and still safe and healthy. It is sad - and a little scary - to see the empty classroom. But thank goodness for the technology to have them online with you. One of my grandsons is a 3rd grader on an IEP. He has been quarantined twice now, and he is struggling with virtual school so much that I'm very concerned about how far behind he is getting. But his 2 siblings seem to do fine with it.
That is pretty devastating to see your nearly empty classroom. I too am glad there is the option of online learning. So glad you have the beautiful view from your house to see the ocean, the beach and the "launch"! Stay safe and healthy!
Wow! That is a little worrying. I do hope you are able to stay safe. So far so good with our schools... lets hope that continues but if they need to switch to on-line we know that works well. You teachers are amazing at your flexibility. I hope you are able to relax this weekend.
Would love to see a launch. I'm in central Georgia, any suggestions?
Just found your blog and posted a block. I'm a retired teacher from KY and spend Jan/Feb on Cocoa Beach. We enjoy the launches as well.
Oh that has to be so strange!!! Love the launch photos
