ScrapHappy Sunshine Day

Some yellow blocks happened this week.  I don't have nearly as much yellow as pink, so there won't be quite the same level of variety going on.   I had to buy some fabric for backings and picked yellows and oranges hoping to fill out the scrap stash with the extras.
The farmers wife blocks were a failed quilt along from long ago.   If I just make three more I could have a small 4 by 5 quilt.  OR I could throw out one block and make it a 4 by 4.   I've been on a quest lately to finish things off. This has led to digging deep through bags and boxes of this and that seeing what I could take care of.   Honestly, the limiting factor right now is quilting.  The longarm does not stay set up in the new house at the moment, so finished quilts happen in spurts.   All good though, all of those lovely flimsies will get a turn at some point.  Until then, there still seem to be plenty of hidden surprises to find.

I am on a similar quest to you and trying to get some UFOs finished!

I love to find hidden surprises. I am trying to finish 21 projects for 2021. We shall see. I'm feeling positive. I totally get the finishing things in spurts because of your longarm. It's not heated all the time where my longarm is. I don't like to heat the area for just one quilt. I get it.

Hidden treasures in the form of fabric are always the best! I have a bag I need to go through sometime soon, too. Have a great weekend, Angela!

I hardly have any yellow scraps, either!!! I don’t even really have a yellow-ish UFO to finish. Hmm...I’m sure I will stay busy sewing this month, though!!!

Both sets of your blocks look great!

I hear you on getting out old UFO's to work on. I just did an organize of my quilt studio and have found all sorts of projects to work on. It should keep me busy for a while!

I didn't get any yellow sewing done this week. Last month my quilt store had a yellow bundle of FQs which I bought. So excited to dig into that this month! Your Farmer's Wife blocks look great. I think you should add to it rather than subtract. After all, it's not like your longarm is up & ready. You've got time to make those last few. See you next week, if not before!

I have several quilt tops waiting for quilting, and a few other quilts at various stages of piecing....
pretty yellow stars. I also love your Farmer’s wife blocks and thing that you should make a few more.
