ScrapHappy Saturday - Last Blue Saturday

February is right around the corner! Based on the fact that I will be travelling for a week and a half, I decided to get a head start on green. Focus on the darker shades if there is a lot. I am going to have a "pastel" month later in the year to circle back to lighter shades of blue, green or pink if needed. Those seem to be the colors for me that go a little crazy. These are all leaders and enders from the 2 inch strip bin that I sewed up while webbing the top of Saltwater Taffy.

The celebration of life was scheduled for this weekend in North Carolina, but this isn't the best time to go to that area as there is likely to be another big snowstorm. It is supposed to get below freezing here tomorrow which is extremely rare. It burns the palm tress! Also, lots of people don't have heaters or the sense to wear shoes and socks. Floridians are just not well equipped for freezing. Sounds to me like a great reason to stay in and get some sewing done. First graduate school work, then sewing. How is your weekend shaping up?

That definitely doesn't sound like good traveling weather, especially if you have a long drive to accomplish! Glad you get to stay home and hope there's plenty of time for sewing. I'm ready for a new color - on to green!

Looks like you did get a good start on the greens. Hopefully, the cold won't last too long. Enjoy your sewing time this weekend. Winter weather has been rough this year for many parts of the US.

Hope that freeze and other winter weather doesn't last long or cause as much trouble as forecasters predict. I'm excited about green for February.

Staying in and sewing is a good idea! I have family that live in Florida. They consider Wisconsin weather impossible. Sometimes I agree!

A nice start on your greens and a smart move to stay off those winter roads and keep safe and warm.

I was wondering if you would travel up this weekend. Our senior trip was cancelled due to the cold and the storm for the drive back Sun/Mon from DC home. Yes, people down here do not have the gear for cold weather. We just got internet back after 23 hours down.... off to go pin a quilt for quilting. I see snuggling under a quilt while binding it later!

Wise decision to delay this weekend's celebration of life. Better to stay in Florida, even if it is cold. I'm impressed by how much "green" piecing you have already accomplished.

Nice jump start on the GREEN scraps for February, Angela! You are right to stay away from North Carolina this weekend. It's been snowing to beat the band today!

Stay safe and warm, definitely a savvy move to stay off the winter roads.

Sounds like a super-not-good traveling weekend. Besides not having the proper attire or house heat, they also don't know how to drive in it. A sewing weekend is the perfect solution!

Thank goodness it's green this month! I was shuffling through my blues and noticed my green box is overflowing. Will be happy to dig in this month!

I really wanted to get back to sewing up my scraps this year, but already a month has past and I have done nothing! Maybe this month?!?

I am a bit confused; I am not sure if green is the color for the rainbow scrap challenge or not? Since there was no mention of the rainbow challenge when you mentioned green, I am not certain if you are referring to it or something else that you are working on that requires green? Could you please clarify what the color for February is in regards to the rainbow challenge? Thank you.
