ScrapHappy Saturday - Rainbow Earthday

Happy Earth Day!  It is also march for science day, but I will not be marching.  Instead I will be doing science!  Today is our annual all county AP Biology review day.  There are just a few short weeks before the big exam.  So today I'll be making LAC operons out of swimming pool noodles and doing statistical analysis of M&Ms.  There will be snacks, and lunch and lots of kids from different schools.  It is always a jam packed day full of fun and learning.
Hopefully you have all been busy with your rainbow scraps.  I've got just two more jam packed weeks and then sewing time should be back on the agenda.

ScrapHappy Saturday - Mixing it Up

I've gone crazy making randomly happy mixed crumb blocks.  Most of my scraps get sorted by color, but anything that can't live happily in a color drawer ends up in the mixed bin.  I'm doing my best to get that bucket all emptied out this month.  So far I just dumped it all out and started sewing anything together that was about the same size.  Those bits kept growing until they were big enough to get trimmed up to either 5 inches for 6.5 inches.  Maybe they will get sorted into pastels and brights?  Maybe they will just all learn to live happily together.  Time will tell.

ScrapHappy Saturday -- All Mixed Up

We are finally starting spring break today.  Finally!  I can't remember ever having a spring break this late.  There won't be much left to do when we get back but get ready for end of the year testing.  That is a thought for another day.  Today I am looking forward to a lovely and relaxing vacation day.  I think I will start by using up some more of my multi colored scraps in randomly happy crumb blocks.  What multicolor fun do you have going on today?

ScrapHappy Saturday - Multicolor Madness!

Admit it, we all have problem children.  Each year I go through a scrap sorting exercise.  Most things fit neatly into one pile or another.  Even if it is only mostly blue or mostly red, it gets tossed into a basket or bin ready to be used happily with its like minded friends.

Then there are the oddballs that are truly mixed up.  Floral prints, multicolor stripes, novelties!
This month I am going to pull them all out and try to make something.  Even if they all end up in multicolor crumb blocks, I want them used up and out of the way.  Challenging?  Perhaps, but its going to be fun trying!
