Crumby Wednesday

OK, so it really isn't crumby in a bad way, just in a busy making crumb blocks way.  I started working on these multi color crumb blocks during April, which was the multi color month.  They have been waiting patiently, and are now all squared up.

There is something quite relaxing about making fabric.  whichever pieces ended up at about the same size got sewn together, and then when the fabric seemed big enough, I simply cut them down into either 6.5 or 5 inch blocks.

There is quite a nice stack of blocks now, waiting to come together to make a top.  I was thinking of a diagonal setting for the smaller blocks.  Then maybe a simple straight set for the larger blocks....
Most of the day though, will be spent driving back and forth to summer camps.  Ryan needed to be dropped off at 8:30 and Sydney at 9.  That part wasn't so bad.  Now I've got to pick up Sydney at 2 and Ryan at 4:30.  That part will be a bit more awkward.  Fortunately, though, it isn't far.  Then I'll be back to playing with my crumb blocks again.

Slow Sircle Sunday

Nothing is better than slow stitching on a Sunday.  Especially on the first Sunday of Summer break.  What a great feeling to sit and stitch and think about the lazy days to come.  Maybe not too lazy, with summer workshops and camps and miscellaneous busyness, but it is such a nice change from the usual school schedule.  I sat and stitched five pink circles while streaming Madam Secretary on Netflix.  I know that May is a green month this year, but I think that all the green circle are done.  Just two more months worth of circles until last years block a day quilt is finished!  Better slow than never I alway say.  Hope you are enjoying your slowdown Sunday too.  Be sure to head over to Kathy's Quilts to see what everyone else is up to.

ScrapHappy Saturday - Last Green Saturday

Sorry for the late start to the day.  I was up for an early morning yoga class and lost all track of time.
Without further delay then, let us begin the last green Saturday.  Hope that your greens have had a productive time.  I know that it is one of the bigger buckets for me, so I'm glad to have a few more days to finish off.  That works well with this begining of summer vacation.  Hurray!  It hasn't quite sunk in yet.  So far I've cleaned the oven, caught up on laundry and taken my middle child, Ryan to the DMV to get his learner's permit.  That makes today the perfect time to relax a bit with some green scraps.

ScrapHappy Saturday - Enjoying Emerald

The month is nearly gone, and I must admit that so far, I have little to show.  A few partially complete log cabins.  There are just three days left in the school year though, and the balance is sure to shift soon enough.  Hopefully your green scraps have been more productive.  Misterlinky is below.  Please share with us all.

ScrapHappy Saturday - Green with Envy

As I rush around madly with end of the year wrap up for school, I am certainly envious of people with a full day of quality quilting time to look forward to.  Not to worry though, my time is coming soon enough.

ScrapHappy Saturday - Going Green

It is ScrapHappy Saturday and I am home!  Hard to remember the last time that happened.  Out of town trips, review sessions, state competitions.  April was quite a whirlwind.  Just two more weeks until things start to settle down I think.  My big kids have their AP test on Monday and my little guys take their End of Course on the Monday after.  Hopefully that will mark the home stretch.  For now though, I feel strongly that a bit of sewing time is just what I need to get me through.  I think I'm going to pull out some tiny log cabins.  There is something strangely soothing about them.  What are you up to today with your green scraps?  Misterlinky is below.  Share with us all.

Green with Envy

It is a new month today, which means it is time for a new color.  Green is the lucky winner for May.   Glad to have something normal to dig into this month?  I sure am.  It felt so good to move along all those mixed up odd ball prints.  This will be so much easier though.
