Last Black Saturday

I've been chipping away at the last little bits of black for the past few Saturdays.  I'll be sure to finish them off today to make way for the brown of next month.  How are your black blocks looking?  Use misterlinky below to keep us up to date on your projects.
While planning the end of this years scraps, I have already started to plan for next years challenge.  Do you have any favorite colors you want to see featured?  Leave me a comment so I can consider new options as I plan ahead.  On that front I have SUPER exciting news!  I got an e-mail last week from Vicki Welsh, who makes lots of luscious hand dyed fabric.   She blogs over at Field Trips in Fiber and sells beautiful hand dyed fabrics and she wants to sponsor the Rainbow Scrap Challenge next year!  She will be sending some fabric goodies our way for a monthly giveaway.  How fun will that be?  Nothing makes using up scraps more fun than more fabric to spice up the mix.
I'm headed out of town for 4 days this week.  4 school days away from my classroom!  I'll be helping out on the committee that writes the state mandated end of course exam for biology.  Days will be packed full of reading and editing questions, but in the evenings -- I'm taking my sewing machine for a little quality creative time.

How fun on getting a sponsor. I'm glad to hear you are doing the challenge again next year. I've not done too well on my scrappy project for this year.

Enjoy your evening sewing time.

I just can't wrap my head around the black, tho I have very few blacks, mostly Kona solid. I am ready for Nov's challenge! How exciting to have a sponsor for next year! I've already begun collecting ideas for using my scrappy pieces next year - sooo many choices, sooo many scraps!

Yah. Brown scraps next month. Good grief. Almost Christmas.
Exciting news about having a sponsor next year! Lovely hand dyed fabrics sound like fun. I'm already making plans for next year's rainbow blocks.
Thank you for agreeing to host another year. I have no suggestions. Love how your are hosting now! Especially the linky on Saturdays! I enjoy visiting other blogs, seeing pictures of what they make with their scraps.

Wow--what an exciting post!
A sponsor for next year -- super cool! And hopefully I'll be jumping back on the wagon with y'all.
4 days out of the classroom -- oiy. So hard to prepare for such an extended absence, BUT... 4 days of teacher input for a high-stakes test: yes! I actually envy you for your week ahead; I enjoy meetings like that! Enjoy!

Vicki has lovely fabrics and how wonderful to sponsor next year. I have bow ties and churn dash planned for next year - maybe a star block, too. I love having the colors 'pop up' each month, but I do have a lot of brights that are stacking up - pastels were a sticky note for me.

It is fantastic that there is a sponsor for next year - that certainly gives us more incentive to work with our scraps.

Angela you do such a wonderful job of hosting the challenge and I have enjoyed participating the past few years!

So excited to hear about the sponsor for next year's challenge! Hand-dyed fabrics will be a treat and additional challenge. I have no color suggestions to offer, although I did like this year's division of the blues. I'm also already planning next year's block(s) - so many choices!

To be a teacher chosen to write a state mandated end of year exam sounds pretty impressive! Congrats.

To have a sponsor for next year is pretty impressive also.

This was my first year for the RSC and I feel like I did get a lot of scraps used up that I otherwise would not have if it hadn't been for the challenge. Thanks and glad to hear it will occur again next year. I still have piles and bags of scraps!

Thank you again and again for hosting, even when we're impatient to know the next color.
