ScrapHappy Saturday - Autumn Hues

I know we don't get much fall color here is Florida, but I am still feeling that brown is an appropriate color for the month.  I haven't done much yet with my scraps, but they will be ready as soon as I can unpack my sewing machine from the car and get settled in again. First though, there is a junior high play rehearsal and an OM practice.  The afternoon looks good though.  What are your thoughts on brown?

I used to think that brown was drab, but there are some really rich looking browns out there. Looking forward to seeing what everyone does with their brown scraps.

Brown is the finishing touch to quilts! I never used to use brown or orange before this challenge and now I love how they add that sparkle and settling to a quilt.

I have grown very attached to browns. I am ready to finish up my scrappy 16-patch star quilt. I've collected a gallery of ideas for next years challenge, just can't narrow it down. Don't we have too many choices.

I can't say that brown is a favourite colour but I do like it and use it quite a bit. It is a colour that makes me feel nice and warm like drinking a cup of hot chocolate.

Some of my favorite quilts have featured brown so I have plenty of scraps to play with this month. Looks like you have a nice collection too.

I love brown! Good luck on your brown sewing adventures. Didn't know you lived in FL. We lived for several years in Naples, FL. Some family still lives there.

I will be doing fine with Brown but I laugh a little that you think of Brown for November. We got a big dump of the white stuff last night. About 5 inches at my house but not far west of us (closer to the mountains) they got a foot or more. It will now stay till April. Thanks for hosting. I see you got to play a little more this week.

I've been watching scrappy saturday posts from various people for a long time. I've decided it's time I jumped in.

Although I have read about it heaps of times, I haven't got myself organised to join in before, but having been gifted with a bunch of 3" squares, lots of which are brown, I thought I would have a bit of fun with them. Found it interesting how many shades of brown there are!
