This is a nice simple block which would make a great scrap quilt with leaders and enders. It started as a Garlic Knot block which was one of Bonnie Hunter's blocks from Addicted to Scraps. As I was planning the piecing though, I arranged the color placement to use equal numbers of each color subunit for ease of cutting.
Start with four strips of fabric at least 8 inches long. I cut mine to about 8.5 inches to leave a little wiggle room for squaring up. You will need three different shades of light blue along with one background fabric.
Sew the 4 four patches together into a single block and again, swirl the seams and press carefully.
Finally, add your star points following the tutorial found on the RSC15 tab.
