ScrapHappy Saturday - Multicolor Madness!

Admit it, we all have problem children.  Each year I go through a scrap sorting exercise.  Most things fit neatly into one pile or another.  Even if it is only mostly blue or mostly red, it gets tossed into a basket or bin ready to be used happily with its like minded friends.

Then there are the oddballs that are truly mixed up.  Floral prints, multicolor stripes, novelties!
This month I am going to pull them all out and try to make something.  Even if they all end up in multicolor crumb blocks, I want them used up and out of the way.  Challenging?  Perhaps, but its going to be fun trying!

I'm dipping into my scraps to look for the multicolored.
Wish me luck!

Challenging is right-I am using a particular line of fabrics that read as solids so I will have to take a sideline and make a small quilt this month instead! Here I go!

I haven't had a chance to go digging around in the scrap bins yet, but this month's challenge sounds like fun to me!

Hmmm. I think I'll pull all those extra 'parts' and see what sort of blocks I can make.....

Hurray! This is my least-loved, most-neglected section of the scrap box. Too often, I choose patterns where things need to read as a particular color, so these fabrics get passed over, and over, and over. I'm off to find some good ones!

Those multi coloured fabrics can be a challenge and I agree that putting them in string or crumb blocks is a perfect way to use up those scraps.

Oh what fun!! I have been going through my stash this morning and cutting little squares from my multi-color fabrics. I pulled in some batiks to make sure I would have enough, and found I had a lot more than I even knew. My fabric chart (picture shown) looks rather like a mishmash of fabrics, which I guess it is. I think the little four patches will be cute with these fabrics.

This is going to be quite a challenge; I can't think of any multi-colour scraps, but who knows what's hiding in the recesses of my sewing room. This may just be the month for a good clean out: in search of multi-colour.

Oh what fun using up some of the multicoloured, wild kinda of fabrics. This should be a fun month.

I just destashed the uglies and replaced with prettier prints in the colors I seemed to be lacking, red and brown tones.

Hope to link up soon with a quilted wall hanging.

Just had to sneak in my red post seeing I haven't done one all March! Will look forward to finding my multicoloured pieces, I have already been inspired by one post on what to do with them, thank you!

Oh "rainbow" you have called me out on my fabric hoarding problem... But in my link I present "red cats" for your approval and promise I'm going to use some of those other scraps. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

I was not able to join up with anything new this week but this is a great idea :)

Interesting twist to the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, I'm going to have to take a look at my scraps and see what speaks to me, no doubt I'll be inspired by others posts here.
