ScrapHappy Saturday - Crazy Lazy Days

Hurricanes sure do upset the schedule.  After all the running around in preparation and then anxious waiting followed by putting the pieces back together, it all takes a lot of time.  So even though it is the 15th, I still haven't finished the tutorial for the October block or posted the fabric giveaway for the month.  Let me start by opening up the entry for the last fabric draw of the month.  Next, I'll head off and make the very last sampler block of the year so that we can all start the finishing process.  Just leave a comment on this post with the name of the next quilt you plan to finish and I will draw for a winner after the weekend.  Until then, be sure to share your progress with us all using mister linky below.

I am finishing an Aussie Hero quilt this week so I can get it into the mail for one of our heroes on deployment. Next year I hope to get back into the rainbow challenge....

As another rainbow year winds down I hope to sew my house blocks together. As I look forward to Rainbow 2017 there is always so may scraps and so may ideas for blocks but I am sure I will have fun participating . Thank you for keeping us encouraged to use our scraps. I am glad you survived the hurricane.

Odd Fellows! I hope the cleanup hasn't been too onerous, and that life returns to normal soon.

Well, that's funny. I could tell you the name of the next 2 quilts I plan to start. Let's see, which one should I finish next ??? I think I should finish my Modified Indian Hatchet RSC16 project next. I planned the special border and it's nearly ready to put together.

I need to make some baby quilts--two family members plus at least one or two friends are expecting babies in a few months.
I'm sure everyone understands the delay in the sampler block, etc. Hope life is getting back to normal for you and your family.

Hope to finish a Quilt of Valor next. I used to live in FL (Naples) so know what hurricane season is like!

Hope the cleanup hasn't been too bad. I have a couple of quilt tops ready to finish, the first one should really be my Nighttime Blooms quilt, followed by the RSC 16 patch I posted about today. But I will definitely make the last couple of blocks for my Scrap Jar Stars quilt this week, so I can start sewing them together, too!

I hope to finish a Halloween quilt I am designing. I hope you did not have any damage

Hope you didn't have much damage to attend to. Still missing school means lots of make up. My next finish will be last year's Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilt, Allietare. I've got the binding stitched to the front and have started sewing to the back.

My next quilt to finish piecing is Autumn Leaves. The next quilt to get completely finished is Green Zebra which is patiently waiting for its binding.

That's an easy question for me.... the next quilt I plan to finish is another rainbow cats quilt (#2) for one of my granddaughters. However, I have two other ones that I've completed and have to blog about for the Finish-Along 4th quarter.

I want to finish my Steampunk quilt, but it's going slower than I thought! Lots of pinning. But I LOVE the process, so I'm taking it slow. Ugh...hurricanes. Went through Hurricane Iniki on Kauai in 1992--we were the only house on our block that kept our roof. What a mess. No electricity for a month! Glad you made it through okay.

I plan to finish my RSC Boxy Squares quilt next. Quilting it now. I think my RSC Column Sew Along Quilt may come after that. I'm looking forward to seeing it come together as I'm a sucker for row quilts. I have a stack of RSC 16-patch blocks and a stack of RSC Happy Scrappy House blocks that I want to turn into quilts before Christmas. I Love this RSC.

I am needing to finish a quilt I designed, so I can write the pattern for it. It has already been accepted for publication, so it needs to get done.

It would not let me link. Who knows why. Probably user error, says I don't have a blog, but I do. http://melsquiltingblog.blogspot.com/2016/10/girl-scout-canvas.html
Is the link to the page where ban of a girl scout canvas quilt is located. I have had all sorts of problems with this because of the fabric used by others and.....anyway, it is quilted and ready for binding.
that's my next step today.

The next quilt I plan on getting finished up is this RSC16. I have been sticking fairly close to the monthly patterns for it. My columns are sewn together, so I hope to get it all completed and quilted so I will be ready for next years RSC. Yes.

I assembled my 2016 RSC blocks! Sewing has been a comfort during a stressful week.

I have plans to make a quilt called "I'm A Wheel" for my son as a Christmas gift. I made a quilt for my daughter, so he'll need one too, right? He's always loved wheels of every kind since he was a toddler and now he's a car NUT and loves to work on them, so a Wheel quilt is perfect!

The name of the next quilt I plan to finish is most likely going to be Windfall. That is the name of the fabric, and I like both the name and the fabric, so it is the working name right now!

My next quilt finish is actually 2 strippy kids' quilts that need to get done by end of the month for Quilts For Kids; the tops are done, must piece backs next. Glad I'm not in a hurricane area; hope all is well for you!
