Playing with Scraps

I'm spending some time tonight playing with my red scraps while the Superbowl is going on.  I have a red heart die for the sizzix machine that I bought back when I used to do scrap booking.  I ironed some steam a seam onto the back of a some red strips and ironed them onto a set of the strips that I was using for nine patches.  It is going to turn into a mug rug.  I've also got a nice little stack of nine patches going along with lots more in the pipeline.  Mainly I'm trying to distract myself from goings on at work, and it is working for the most part.  Kurt is trying not to pass out on the couch from jet lag.  It is so nice to have him home again.  The Packers are still ahead in the third.  I think I'll make it all the way to the end.

How cute! The hearts really pop. I didn't participate in Superbowl Sunday, but, I did have a fun Sewing Sunday for awhile today!

I watched until after the half time show, which I enjoyed. I hear the end of the game was much more exciting than the first half. Loving what you are doing with your reds.

I love your red/white strips with the hearts. It will be an adorable mug rug. I think I need to make some red/white strips/nine patches too. :) Thanks for sharing your ideas with us.

I love it. Love how you've used your Sissix machine to make those hearts. Can't wait to see it when it's finished.

Love what you're doing with the hearts and red 'n whites.
Good news: I've finished my Feb Scrap Challenge project--actually made a whole mini quilt out of many many reds. Am i supposed to post a pic somewhere? Unfortunately my blog is not up to date--hope to fix that soon-- so I can't post it there.
Thanks for organzing this challenge. It is fun! I think it might light a fire under me to get going again. *g*

I finally caught up. I have three blue blocks done and three reds. I used the patterns from the civil war BOW - but not in proper fabrics for the era. LOL I am challenging myself this year to do more star blocks and blocks with points as I'm not very good at them yet. Are all these blocks going to go into one quilt or is that up to us to decide? I think all mine might go into one quilt. So I may need to do more blues/reds, etc. once I have more done to layout and see what I want to do. Pictures of the blocks are up on my blog. : ) I'm going to go look at others now. Hugs everyone and have a great weekend.
