I am hoping to add a row of orange to my framed nine patch quilt today. It is going to be a vertical quilt, so I think it will need 8 columns to go with the 10 blocks. Orange and red will bring me up to 7. Then I am thinking white or brown for the last set.
I still have lots of nine patches left over, so orange and red are ready to go. It shouldn't take long to frame them out. First though, I'm heading up to our 114 acre study sight. We got the news on Monday that we have permission to begin our camera trap project. Now we just need to figure out all of the details. There is play practice as well and a football game in the evening. Lots of good weekend fun to look forward to, but not so much that I won't be able to find some time to enjoy the sewing room.
Speaking of enjoyment, I haven't yet had the drawing for Vicki Welsh's package of hand dyed orange fabric for this month. Please leave a comment on this post to enter the drawing. I choose a random winner later this week.
I hope that fabric and thread will be a part of your weekend as well. Misterlinky is below so that we can all come by and enjoy your progress on the rainbow scrap challenge.

These framed nine patch blocks are wonderful; what a great pattern! So vibrant.
Lots of beautiful color in your Framed 9 Patch. Hope you do get some nice sewing time this weekend.
I have linked up a post with sunset photos of the finished Fruit Loops quilt. I will also be taking it outside in the mid day sun to take another round of photos today (to be posted later on this afternoon). Last year's orange/red/yellow/etc. is SO happy in that quilt!
This is going to be a stunning quilt! Nice work you have going on with the orange, too!
Love all the scrappiness! Orange is the best!
Lovely framed 9-patches. I am collecting oranges for my grandson's college quilt--so thanks for the chance to win some more....hugs, Julierose
these framed out 9 patches are fabulous. Vicki's fabrics are just awesome and would be wonderful to win (again). Thanks and thanks again for the leadership you provide with this Rainbow Scrap Challenge.
Lovely framed 9-patches, especially because the frames are different to the usual. I'd go for brown for the last set of blocks; I think white would be too much contrast, but you know best what suits your quilt.
This is another cool rainbow quilt you are building!
Thanks for hosting another giveaway of Vicki's hand dyed fabrics... they are delicious!
Thanks for the chance to win some orange to fill in my stash.
Here's to weekend fun, fabric therapy and the color orange!
Love that orange--such a bright, happy color!
I'm having a hard time using up my orange prints as part of my RSC effort! I keep wanting to make them into a quilt of their own but I haven't been able to decide on a plan. Everytime I think I've decided on an approach some new option comes along. :- )
I love that framed 9-patch. I'm going to keep that in mind for a project for next year!
Your framed 9Patch blocks look great! I love them set in columns.
Your framed 9-patch quilt top is coming along nicely!! I have a soft spot of row quilts.
Your blocks look great!
Your framed nine patch is singing!!
The orange blocks will be a great addition to that quilt. Good luck with the camera traps. Have seen so many terrific tv shows using them. What do you hope to catch on them? My son-in-law is at Space Camp in AL this week with ten blind or limited sight students from his school, a special week for 150 from all over the U.S.
I love your framed 9 patches. I struggled with not having much orange in my scraps but a gift of scraps this week helped out. I have two RSC projects under way - twinklers and little monkeys.
I am finding myself drawn to orange more and more. Love that fat quarter bundle. I think I need to order it too!

My stash is sadly lacking in orange so please enter me in your Giveaway. Your Rainbow 9 Patch quilt is coming along beautifully.
I didn't have a lot of orange scraps. I needed a prayer quilt quickly and if found some oranges, yellows and blacks. I should have the quilt finished by the end of September.
I can see why your nine patch is a fav. I had no time to work on orange blocks this week due to family in town but hope to be back next week.
Every time you show those framed nine patches, I want to drop everything and go make some. Now THAT's being an inspiration!
I love your vibrant colors and the quilt! So striking. I am participating in RSC2016 - just behind the power curve.
I plan on making Sue Garman's OMIGOSH in memory of her - what a sad time for Quilters. She will be missed so much!
