ScrapHappy Saturday - New Month and Switching Gears

It is time to put away the purple and dig into aqua. I had to scramble a bit to find the aqua, because my sewing room has been taken over by 2 children who are home at the moment. I did unpack my purples from the summer along with a panel from Alaska and a nice stack of hexagons that were sewn on the road.
Ryan has been home for a bit while he works full time and finishes his degree, but his lease only ended last week. Sydney is back for a month between the end of her internship and going back to school again. They both came with all the stuff from their college apartments. Sydney doesn't have quite as much. She just moved out of her summer sublet and still has an apartment from last year. Ryan however, no longer has an apartment, and has not yet decided on his future plans. He initially thought he would move to another office with the same company after graduation, but he really likes the office here and might just decide to stay. He didn't think that he was going to keep the furniture that we cobbled together for him from garage sales and Facebook marketplace, but somehow he fit it all in a car and hauled it home again. Until he decides on his plan, I will need to figure out how to make space to sew.

Good luck! We've had that sort of empty nest/full nest thing happening as our children started their adult lives. I hope you can find some place to sew, even if it's a corner of the kitchen table!

It's always fun to dig out the new color of the month! Good luck to your kids in figuring out their next steps, too. That's not exactly "fun," but definitely an interesting part of the parenting journey. Have a relaxing weekend, Angela!

I need to have my hubby read your post..... I keep reminding him the kids do come back home after they leave for college and need a place to land! Enjoy the last few days before the crazy school year begins. I've got one that will be applying to schools this fall. Wish us luck.

Those young adults come home with bigger stuff don't they? I still have a couple of odd pieces of furniture living in my basement that one college daughter left here after one of her moves. That was about 18 years ago. LOL Maybe one of the grandkids will want those things when THEY leave for college.

I feel your pain on the kids coming home. Ours moved home last month after finishing her masters, while she's job hunting. We put a lot of stuff in storage. But what she did bring home is spread all over the house at the moment. Here's to chaos, but it's worth it to have them home for a bit.

Good luck finding some sewing space but it must still be wonderful to have the two home for a bit! 😉
