Welcome to a new month! There is no new color for November, instead it is time to collect and assemble. My month needs to begin with a bit of a cleanup. I've got new scraps and partial collections and I am not sure what else all going on. Figuring that out is first on my list.
Thursday trivia was Halloween themed. All the kids came to school in costumes yesterday which was festive if not educational. We will definitely not be headed to Jamaica next weekend. Our resort was spared the worst and hopes to welcome guests back before the end of the month. We might be able to reschedule for spring break. I hate to go to work when I have already taken time off, so maybe we will just head to Virginia instead. Kurt will already be there for work, so I could join him for some fall fun. I could chop some wood and do some projects. Not exactly the same as a beach vacation, but it could still be fun.
Las night a palm tree cast a shadow on the side of a condo as we walked home from date night. How is your end of the year starting to shape up? There are two months left to assemble your blocks and think about what can still turn into a quilt before the new year begins. Misterlinky is below. Please share with us all.

New scraps are always fun to add to the collection and dream of what they will become. It was so fun to work in the elementary school on Halloween. Teachers took kids outside for extra recess and had them walk/run two laps around the playground. Kids carelessly running on a brisk 55 degree, sunny day with costumes flowing in the wind -- it's a beautiful sight. Smiles and cheers. Then they got onto the "Boo Bus" decked out by the bus drivers with a sliding board to evacuate. I was so lucky to have a big window near the desk in my special education classroom. Students in my class safely watched the "parade".
Sorting and organizing are ongoing chores for all of us quilters - I need to do it, too! Pretty photo from your walk home, too. Have a relaxing weekend, Angela!
Jamaica has a long road to recovery, still it's sad that you won't get your beach vacation.
Where in Jamaica were you going to be vacationing? Hubby & I honeymooned in Montego Bay in 1978. I'll bet it's changed quite a bit since then and now the hurricane. Ugh! Enjoy your time off wherever you end up!
I'm glad you weren't already in Jamaica when that hurricane hit. Hope you enjoy the mountains instead. I used to really enjoy dressing up for Halloween when I was teaching in the high school. About half of the kids would dress up too. It was fun, but you're right - not always the most educational day. I'm definitely focused on finishing up some things, but also on planning already for 2026 projects. Planning is part of the enjoyment.
Best of luck with the cleanup effort, Angela. Here's hoping you can carve out some quilt finishing time between now and the end of the year!
oh the month of assemble!!! I have to get to it!
Hope you do take your vacation - so sorry the beach got canceled
