Welcome to a new month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. It is time to put away the blue. It's OK if you aren't done, the pastel shades will have another turn down the road. For now, dig into the green! Think of spring and brighter days to come. I am plugging away at chapter 3 of my dissertation today. Every so often when I need to clear my head, I get up and quilt a Dear Jane block. I think that I am on row 3 now, no rush on this one of course, she has been patient so far.
I know that so much of the US is a blanket of ice and snow. The celebration of life was postponed, which turned out to be a very good thing as that part of North Carolina has snow being measured in feet instead of inches. I think that someone let the spigot outside drip last night so that it didn't freeze and burst. It made this beautiful ice sculpture on the foliage. I will try hard not to go anywhere today. Watching the steam roll off of the crashing ocean waves is fascinating.

Will be pulling out my greens. Grandmother's Jewels will get at least 5 more "jewels" this month hopefully. Enjoy your weekend.
Wow - seeing ice in Florida is probably very unusual! Getting up to quilt for a bit just to clear your head and stretch your legs sounds like a good idea. That is a pretty green room there - I love sewing with green!
I just knew it'd be pink or red🤣 the dear Jane blocks looks great! Happy sewing & stay warm!
I bet watching the steam come off the waves is an amazing sight! Best wishes on making lots of progress on your dissertation!
Good luck with the dissertation writing. Even though that was long ago for me, I don't think you ever forget the effort it takes. Stay warm!
Is your quilt at the top of the post a Bonnie Hunter pattern? I like that a lot. —Sue, northwindsquilting
I have to admit, I'd never think of making a Dear Jane block as respite from writing a dissertation...! You *are* brave! P.S. up here in most of Canada, we have valves indoors that turn off water to any outdoor spiggots to prevent a) freezing and/or b) undue icicles which cost $$ on the water bill. Then again, after October, we don't usually have greenery that needs watering...until May. Cozy up, and stay safe, everyone!
