Opening Ceromonies

We tried to watch the opening ceremonies of the Olympics as a family.  Sydney was asleep by Cameroon, Ryan nodded off around France, and Kurt gave up and turned in sometime after Monaco.  The festivities are just finishing up now.  While enjoying all of that, I got all the bits cut out for Little Monkey.  This was a request for my mom's husband's daughter's new baby who is due in October.   Sir Paul McCartney has just finished with Hey Jude and I am off to call it a night.

We didn't last the distance, lol. El Salvador was our limit.

I only made it to Jamaica! And no sewing, although a quilt that needs the binding stitched down was sitting 3 feet from me.

We only watched part of the ceremonies; when the rings came together. Then we shut it off and put Edward Scissorhands into the player :)
Not sure what we're up to today; but I'm sure some quilting will be done.

Little Monkey---that's one of Bonnie's, right?

I was finishing up my blue coffee cups while wathing the opening ceremonies. My Guy faded and went to bed somewhere in the "T's", I made it throught the torch lighting, then shut it down. Of the three of us, only the Drama Teen made it all the way through the ceremony (at least that's my assumption as she's still asleep).

I must admit I did make it too the end - well I had to, not only am I English but a Londoner to boot! Although I did nod off and miss Her Majesty opening the games (is that treason?)

We watched the whole thing - and it was a lot later here as we are actually IN London. Admittedly, my 9YO was away at Cub Camp and my other two are teens, which makes a difference. I also confess I was beginning to lose the will to live sometime around "M"... but we did want to see it all end!

We watched the whole ceremony and thought it was great.

Think you must have been dropping off at the end at it was Sir Paul McCartney who sang Hey Jude. John Lennon was murdered in the USA back in 1980!
