Slow Sewing Sunday

The sewing will be slow, but the wind will be fast.
I finished the hand quilting on the Orange Peels last night!  The orange peels are quilted with coordinating colors of pearle cotton.  The border got a zig zag treatment in grey.  Now that this one is done, I'll have to get my Leap Year quilt finished up to be next on the list for hand quilting.
I got the binding cut out last night, so getting that attached will be first on the list today.
Then the nine patches on point need some binding as well.  I'm going to use the same striped fabric from the inner border.  It looks like there will be plenty of binding to keep me busy when the power goes out.  Until then, I'll keep enjoying the air conditioning and cable TV.  I'm linking up today with Kathy for Slow Stitching Sunday and Cyndi for Oh Scrap!  It was her nine patch quilts that inspired mine.  She works a bit faster though.

I do hope you are in a safe place. This storm is fierce.

I like your orange peel blocks, such cheerful colors on these stormy days.

What size and brand of needles do you use when hand quilting and appliqueing?

Both quilts are beautiful, but I'm in love with your nine-patch quilt.

I forgot today was Sunday! Glad you still have power and are sewing away. I found out I tend to bake and cook when I am nervous. I think I'll pull out some hand stitching while I watch tv.

Best of luck getting the binding attached before the power goes out!! I only recall being in one hurricane. It was terrifying!! What a trooper you are, being SEW productive.

Congrats on the peels finish and I hope that your power stays on !

Wonderful orange peels! Love the colours!

At least you are being productive. I would probably be glued to the Weather Channel which we did watch this morning for a while, but then decided I needed to turn it off and accomplish something myself. We have friends and family all over Florida, so no matter where Irma treads, someone I know is going to get hit.
Hope all goes well for you and your family.

So glad you're so well prepared and have plenty to keep you busy while you wait out the worst. Hope it doesn't get to be more than you or your home can handle.
