The End is Near

The girls and I trimmed the tree this week.   We are making an effort to enjoy holiday festivities.
This morning's sunrise was not much, but yesterday was quite pretty.

Just 5 days until winter break. I think I can make it! I'm not sure at this point how many students will remain in person, but we will all do our best.  We sent home both boy's basketball teams on Thursday to quarantine.   That was quite a shock, the number of affected students continues to grow.  With the news that a middle school teacher from a local school has died of COVID, it is starting to sink in that this is a serious situation.   Just 5 days, I won't think too hard about what comes after that.
It is dreary and rainy here today which seems like an excellent excuse to sew.  If I can cross just a few odds and ends off the list, I will feel ready to start some new quilts in 2021.

our local school just this week had 423 students/staff go into quarantine - I am starting to loose track of how many there has been and this is a fairly small area - hope you stay safe.

Hang in there! Maybe the holiday break will calm things down a bit with virus exposures.

One family of my my grandkids are home quarantining and won’t be able to go back to school until after New Years. My daughter and her husband both have Covid. Mild symptoms so far and we certainly hope it stays that way. They aren’t sure how they were exposed as they are very careful about masking, etc. But both daughters work in hospitals so who knows. This one is an OT so generally isn’t working directly with sick people.

What a lovely sunrise! I'm so sorry about how hard the virus is hitting right now. Good luck with the last few days before break, and stay safe!

That dreaded Covid, it must have been a real shock to hear about the teacher (dud you know her) passing away.
On a happier note, it is so nice to read that so many RSC stitchers are planning what to do for 2021. And some, it seems, have already started.
As always, thanks so much for hosting this, I really appreciate the time and effort it must take you. I do so look forward to getting my weekly dose of RSC cheer, and it's even better when I can participate

I hope that you (and frankly, EVERYONE) can stay safe and healthy. It's a scary time to be going through.
