Day 5

Block 5 today and I used brown fabric because I was making a brown New York Beauty block. I guess I'll join these into rows of 7 for now?
I added the block in the lower right hand corner and the teal one just above it.  I have the last two drafted, so that should be a nice project for tomorrow.
I started the day with a nice jog on the beach and watched a rocket launch.  I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep using the beach because they are getting ready to close those too. I went in to school this morning to feed the fish and do a bit of cleaning and organization.  Teachers all report next Monday so hopefully we will know what the plan is by then.  State testing has been cancelled and we are not to return before April 15.  After that it is hard to say.  I'm guessing we won't be going back this school year.  It's all just a guess at this point though.

I have a feeling you are correct in the not going back. I hope they figure out a plan for how to teach the kids for the remainder of the year online. Your houses are looking good as in the NYB.
Closing the beaches? That would be sad as you are right on the beach. Hopefully they allow those who live there to still walk or jog on the beach.

Your plain NYB blocks really make the fancy ones shine!! Looking forward to seeing what you do for those last two.

oh too bad if you won't be able to walk along the beach - sad! it is so pretty and people could be a good distance from each other.
A house for everyday in the house? Hope schools won't be out the rest of the year but at the rate this is going can understand

Such a hollow feeling to think about schools not getting back to normal at all this spring. I was hoping my online course students would get lots of things done this week but so far that isn’t the case.

Your houses are going to be a fun reminder of this very strange time! It definitely seems strange that they would close the beaches, seems like outdoor activities would be encouraged. But many golf courses around here are closing, and my hubby is questioning that for the same reason!

I saw on the news last night all the spring breakers mobbing Clearwater beach. I guess that's the reason the beaches are closing? After Spring Break there will probably be minimal folks so might be able to keep open? I'm still walking my dog on the bike trail every morning & I see noone, not even the at-home school kids! Keep on sewing! I've been getting a lot of applique done lately.

So pleased you remembered the fish! Maybe someone will have to take the tank home, if it is portable and not fixed to the wall? Lots of schools have so e sort of pets, I expect, which will need looking after. I remember way back in my school days I got to take the Guinea pigs and their cage home with me during the long summer break. And thought, what a lucky girl I was!

My best friends daughter is a senior this year. The seniors are all missing their friends, and all of the senior activities. Prom hasn't been cancelled (yet) and neither has graduation (yet). I have so many memories of my senior year, but these kids will only have Covid-19 memories. Sad for them. Bring your fish home. You might not be able to get back into the school soon.
