Welcome to the first Rainbow Scrap Challenge Linky Party of 2017! Purple will be the color for January this year. So grab a bin of purple and get ready to sew.
Today is the day for experienced rainbow scrap quilters to share finished projects from this year or from years past. Feel free to link up as many times as you like. No need to create a new post, just take us back to the original post you used to share your finished RSC quilt.
It is also the day to share your plans for the new year. Tell us what blocks and patterns you would like to try out this year. If there is a link or tutorial for available, we would love to have a link to that as well. Including it in your post will help everyone else as they settle on plans for the new year.
The most important part? After you link up, be sure to visit as many other people as you can and offer encouragement and kind comments. We will be back every Saturday to follow along. Feel free to link up as often as you like, and please don't feel guilty if you can't stop by every week. Life happens after all. The number one rule at RSC is that there is no quilt guilt allowed. This is a hobby after all, not a job. It is supposed to be fun.
While you are here. Feel free to go over to the right hand margin and grab my brand new button. If you copy the html code under it into a new gadget on your own blog, the button will show up. Then all you have to do is click that button to come right back to my blog. Handy right?

It's a fun link up. Maybe I might get back to my log cabin blocks... I haven't done a purple block yet

I have decided to participate in the RSC this yr. I have followed it for several, coming here for the first time via Kate@life in pieces. I really like a lot of the blocks I have seen here but was very drawn to the folded box blocks from Julie in GA. I don't have a blog but have made 3 purple folded box blocks. Thank you all for lots of inspiration.

I am making a quilt sandwich from one started last year. The other two still need border treatments ! :)
I posted a couple of old links.... will try and post later today with purple. Girl scout cookie rally today with Emily....
Ready to start the new year! I'm hoping to get my 2016 quilt quilted sometime this month!
This is a fun challenge that I have done 2 times over the years and will be doing again in 2017. I've linked my 2 finished RSC quilts. Love them both!
Great post, Angela. The eye candy has revitalized my scrappy dreams. I did have some plans for this year and some saved for next year. In 2016 I had 5 RSC projects going. I told myself that must not happen again. This year I have 4 on my list ... one is a carry over from 2016 tho and one is the crayons which may be an annual child quilt. I have two new ones which are inspired by https://www.pinterest.com/pin/512566001324797287/ and this one was love at first sight https://atthecornerofscrapandquilts.blogspot.ca/2016/01/a-different-wind-rsc2015.html
Another year of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, Angela. I absolutely LOVE it!!! The RSC gives my scrappy bits a higher purpose and you provide the encouragement I need to get sewing. Thank you for hosting!!
Opps, I got it wrong, I just jumped in with my first little scrappy project for January. So glad to be back and so glad RSC is still here to inspire me to organize, sew and finish. THANKS
Well, I am behind on everything - working on working on a 2017 list.
So I am behind already, but think this will be a good way to have a monthly goal and feel like I am not the only one drowning in too many projects going and not finishing!!!
Your button works great!
I'm happy to be here again for 2017, and looking forward to lots more scrappy inspiration! Thanks, Angela!
I missed participating last year, so am looking forward to this years!
Looking forward to lots more RSC fun this year!
I decided to make a lamp block each month and perhaps scrappy blocks included in the quilt.
My first linky doesn't work because I messed up the address... added a new one.
Looking forward to getting more scraps used and more tops finished this year!
Looking forward to a new year of rainbow sewing!
I'm participating, and here's the link to my blog post http://thisisterri.com/?p=3242
Don't know why but it won't let me continue on after entering the Mr. Linky info. It just keeps sending me back to the Mr. Linky page when I hit next.
Aaaaand, now it shows up! :D Yay!
I just linked up...I hope! It's my first time so please be gentle...just kidding! I'm looking forward to doing this challenge this year. I need something to keep me on my toes and give me a reason to use up my scraps! Looking forward to all the fun with you all!
My first time, too! I haven't chosen a block yet so I've made two so far this month and suspect I will choose something entirely different before I am done. I am a major slacker, so I hope I keep up! :)
Since I have LOADS of scraps Im joining in the fun. Www.northerndeb.blogspot.com
Thanks for doing this for us for another year, Angela. I don't know how you do it all with your busy life, but you are appreciated!!!
Love purple! Thanks for hosting RSC again.
Thanks for hosting RSC, Angela! I am always inspired when I see everyone's blocks and tops. 2016 was the first year I played along at least a little each month. I have finished several string and crumb tops this from the blocks I made each month.
I forgot to comment yesterday after I linked up. I'm looking forward to a new year of RSC. The only problem is that I always find 3 or 4 other scrappy quilts I want to make!
Hello there, I'm joining in for the first time this year. I will be making fabric baskets (so I linked up to how I will do those) and today I will make the purple basket and start some house blocks..... thanks for this fun scrap activity...

I sewed a block tonight that's made up of 4 separate EPP blocks. I'm new to the RSC so please help clarify some issues for me. First, do I need to have a blog to link and participate? I want to start one but currently do not have a presence online. Second, do I need to make an entire quilt or just create blocks over the course of a year that will become a final quilt? Third, is any design alright for the purple challenge? I found something great that i'm trying and it will be awesome if I pace myself all year. Thanks, Elana
