The End Begins

I took a day off on Wednesday because most of my students were taking the PSAT.  It was a great opportunity to get Soul Searching bordered and ready to quilt.   I do enjoy seeing a years worth of quilts all start to come together.
I never have large quantities of any backing fabrics, so I pulled out everything black and cut it into 10.5 inch squares or rectangles.   Here they are in a brick layout ready to be sewn together.   I have a quilt that I agreed to quilt for a coworker of Kurt's.  That means I will be setting up the quilting frame again.  If I plan strategically, I can get several quilts finished while it is out.

How are your year end plans working out?  Hopefully you have a quilt or two ready to get finished up before 2020 is gone forever.  I am hopeful that 2021 will be a less eventful year.

I am indeed hoping to finish my RSC projects for this year - the 18 placemats have already been turned in and the quilt blocks are now finished and ready to be sewn into a top. Quilting may or may not happen before the end of the year. We'll see.

SEW glad to hear that you took the day off and used it to get some quilt making tasks done, Angela! Good luck with finishing up a few quilts while the frame is set up.

You deserve a day off, after all the craziness this year! The Soul Searching quilt is absolutely beautiful. Good luck with your finishes, and good luck to your students!

Love that soul searching quilt, and a great idea for quilt backs, sometimes I sew fat quarters together to complete a back.

Wow to soak in a tub and have two windows that view the real ocean. What a relaxing thought. I feel I am in luxury when it snows outside and I soak in the tub and look at a fresh hill of fluff. I too like the tub with the curved neck on it for soaking. It should be a place of relaxation.

I still LOVE your snail trails quilt where the other blocks are laying. It's definitely a beach side quilt.

You have gotten a lot done during this "covid" year. I really appreciate that you have managed to post the colors every month. I know you have been stretched really thin trying to adjust and find a new normal.

I love how you did the back for this beautiful quilt. I now know what I need to do for Jacob's Summer quilt. Thanks for the inspiration. ;^)
