ScrapHappy Saturday - New Leaves

Turning over a fresh page to the new color for March of Green.  First assess your supply.  Green can be a big color.  If you feel that you have too many to tackle in one month, consider starting at the darker end of green.  We will play with the lights and limes again at a later date.   I seem to have a lot of lime going on right now, but we will see how it looks after a good sort.

My big news for the day is that I have a COVID vaccine scheduled for 11 today.  The president finally put teachers on a national priority list!  So even though I am still not eligible by Florida standards, I can still get vaccinated at a federally funded clinic.  Originally there were only 4 federally staffed clinics in the state, but CVS is now on board and I am driving to Orlando to have my turn.  I've been back in my classroom full time for 139 days because the governor mandated that all schools would meet in person at least 5 days a week or else.  I can't wait to be vaccinated and feel like I have more protection than the green tape I put on the floor to separate me from my students.

I was very surprised to see how much green I had! I'm thinking there is going to be a green quilt in my future!

So happy you are scheduled for a shot. Bummer that you need to drive an hour to get it though. I hope to dig into the greens more tomorrow.

Good luck with your vaccination today. Hope for the hour drive that you can get the J&J one with only one dose. It's crazy how Florida is with the vaccine. My friend's parents live there and can't get it. People that are snowbirds from Ohio have gone to Florida to get it. Crazy.

At least you have green tape? Your light greens are lovely. I'm looking forward to those tiny logs of yours being filled in with the missing green rows.

South Dakota teachers can now be vaccinated too - at certain pharmacies. My age group 65-70 has barely begun. My appointment is March 19 for the first shot. Yay!!

So glad to hear you're able to get a vaccine today! It's such a relief to finally get to that point, I think. It's fun to start the month by pulling out the greens and just doing some thinking about how to use them!

I will be going through green today to start my applique block - I'm so glad you are able to get your vaccine - teachers should have been earlier on the list if they want school to happen!!

I’m glad you are getting a vaccine today! My daughter is an RN and giving vaccines in the Orlando area at a CVS pharmacy! Wouldn’t it be a small world if she gave you yours. We will never know, because of HIPA...but it could happen;! Smile, Good luck with the process!

Wonderful news that you can get vaccinated! You and all the teachers have gone above and beyond and I'm so glad you will be a little bit safer teaching your students.

Of course teachers are a priority for the vaccine, just like medical staff, border staff, police, firemen, and all those other essential workers. Your country seems to be doing very well in the roll out if vaccines.

Glad you got your vaccine today, even if you had to drive to Orlando. I got my first dose last Saturday and it was just dumb luck that my husband called the Office for the Aging and we were able to get scheduled right away at a pop-up clinic. Haven't even pulled the greens out yet. Need to figure out a plan for this months Table Scraps with the Joyful Quilter.

Congratulations on getting your vaccine shot! Our daughter is also a teacher, and she got her first shot on Monday. When my husband and I got our appointments, we felt like we hit the lottery. Stay safe!

Yay for vaccinating teachers! My sister (a former teacher now in admin, but who interacts regularly with teachers) got her first shot this week. She said a "hunky" fireman administered it!

Good luck at making your way through the greens! Glad CVS has been added so you have a more convenient location to get your shot.
